    Just got back from Vegas

and let me say what complete TRASH the MGM franchise is. I had read that their DD games were moved off the main floor into high limit but i didn't want to believe it. Now, after seeing it with my own eyes at Mandalay Bay, it's only a matter of (I'd say pretty short) time before BJ is completely unplayable in Vegas. The other empire actually has some playable games but I can't believe they'll last much longer. And the worst part is the morons playing at packed $25 6:5 tables with glee when about 300 feet away in a normal casino they can get a fair game. These people should be sterilized. I know this has been talked about a lot but i just needed to vent my frustrations. now i feel my $3/month membership has been worth it. thanks.

Most, if not all, of those people playing don't give a shit if they're playing 6:5 or 3:2. Not because "they're morons" but because it's not a priority. 6:5 is the new norm, just like I'm sure playing multi-deck games were the new norm during a time between the days of only single deck and now.

As I'm sure anyone (card counter / AP) who's been to Vegas can attest that Vegas blackjack is about quantity, not quality.

The two are not mutually exclusive; people can be idiots and also not consider playable BJ a priority. maybe that's part of what makes them idiots. they're gambling lots of money but don't bother to know anything about odds. i've seen people sit at a 6:5 table when there's an empty 3:2 right next to it. i've seen people buy in for thousands at a 6:5 table in casinos that also have 3:2 for higher stakes. i really believe the majority of people on this planet are stupid sheep, so i know why the casinos are doing their best to fleece us all.

and yeah, it's nice to have so many games, but i wish that most of the playable ones were not from under one ownership.

Actually, Vegas has good quality games as well, just not on the strip. The strip is not a gambling destination, more a party and event destination. Downtown too.

True, but i'm always a little paranoid about the non-strip games at smaller places. feel like i'd be made quickly. even at strip games many here consider to be subpar, one can often find dealers who don't know (care) about the subpar rules or offer excellent pen that make games worth playing.

Since my max bet is under $200 and I play either $25 min, DD games or $10-$15 6 deck games, I rarely play on strip. With my spread, I have 15+ off strip casinos I play at during my Las Vegas trips. Course, places like Red Rock Casino or Green Valley Casino are quite comparable in size and action to many of the strip casinos. Many others are also fairly good sized compared to casinos around the USA.
