Damn, another foot of snow last night. It was just a precursor to the main event where they are calling for up to two feet of snow this weekend. I have a sign on the the utility pole in my yard that says high voltage. The snow is up to the middle of the sign.

This time of year you will find more snowmobiles than cars in the U.P. I remember coming back from a blackjack trip many years ago and there was a bad accident where the snowmobile trail crosses the road. It must of happened about 10 minutes before I got there, because the ambulance and cops were just arriving. Heck, we have more snowmobile deaths than car accident deaths in the winter. We have like 5 deaths in one day this year.

One half inch of snow in Vegas will give way to two feet of snow in upper midwest.

Worst blizzard in years. Almost as bad as the mid April storm that I was stranded in last year. Just pray that the power doesn't go out. Very high winds gusting to 62 mph and getting worse.

Wind gusts now up to 57kt at a western U.P. airport. That is 65 mph and still getting worse. Most of the snow is over, but lake effect snow is starting up.

Yeah, the storm was bad. It probably was in the top 10 of blizzards that I can remember. Winds were up to 69 mph. I'm still not shoveled out. I did get an end loader yesterday to move snow to make room for more. I also fell for the 4th time yesterday for this winter.

This picture is a relative's home less than 10 miles from me.

Honey, after you finish shoveling the path would you mind shoveling the roof.

When this storm was just getting going on Sunday afternoon, my wife had to take the dog out. I said since you are getting all dressed up why don't you shovel the steps and I would do the shoveling for the night dog walk. When my wife went to walk from the garage to the front steps the snow was already up to her knees and she had to use the shovel as a cane to help her get through it. When I went out to shovel the path that night the snow was up over my waist. So far I spent 5.5 hours shoveling this storm, and probably have at least 3 more hours needed to get my second car out. I usually start my blackjack trips in March, but I won't be going anywhere until I get my second car out.

Have this great snow clearer. It uses heat. I call it the sun. It works good enough for me.
