    Mysterious data.

So, I play DD heads up. Before i sit at the table, I always ask the dealer "how is the table" and if the dealer says "it is very bad" or "it is good" i will always keep a record. And my data shows that when the dealer tells me table is very bad, i will lose more than 50% of the time. How is this possible? I am still winning in the long run. But is this really just coincidence? I don't want to be one of those voodo players. But it is hard to ignore.

It's the dealer telling you when the ASM is running in beast mode. It's why it's a losing prop. Now, if you were doing well at a table and a new dealer warns you, it's BS.

But I took more of a mathematical approach by actually collecting data and the results speak for themselves. I am not saying anything... But the results speak for themselves. Over 16 months of sessions.

How many hours of play ? 16 months of play is not meaningful. It could also be a crappy game and crowded condition played with a weak spread.

""It's the dealer telling you when the ASM is running in beast mode."" I have obviously missed many a conversation about this "BEAST". Please explain and/or reference pertinent threads. I've heard suspicions about the programming of ASM'S and seen the allegations in the Voodoo thread but I figured it was incorrect. Please advise Zeebar....thanks.

wow, and to think I've been wasting my time counting when I could have just asked the dealer how the table is going.. OP This is revolutionary stuff I dont think you should be sharing on open forums, publish a book with your mathematical data findings and rake in the $$$

    It is voodoo.

For the the sake of a pointless argument, assume that there IS a beast mode, programmed so that the dealer gets all the high cards and you get a stiff. What happens when someone joins the table? They mess it up, of course.

What if you cut it so that YOU get all the high cards, and the dealer gets stiffs? I bet the casino didn't think of that!

Zee, the above poster is a relatively new counter. This is just piss poor advice. Shame on you.

If it's true, don't play when the dealer says it's going poorly. I suspect you alter your play (like a self fulfilling prophecy).

I have a casino where I used to get routinely crushed. It looks like a good game, and I know many people who win there. It's just that I never do.

The last time I played, I was afraid to make a double, and didn't bet appropriately. I realized that I wasn't playing optionally...and guess what? I lost. Can't blame the casino for that.

So I don't play there anymore. Not because I think they cheat, but because I don't play well there. They're in my head. Best for me to just drive on past them.

I concur. I have friendly dealers tell me the same thing to warn me that the table was running the beast mode. The dealers have seen for hours that no one won. Normally I would see there are already other counters sitting at this table. If I insist on playing, then I will see counters and Basic Strategy players are all losing as cards come out in clumps. The only exception is that some ploppies that don't play by the book may win.

Clumps occur as part of random distributions. "Beast mode" is gibberish.

    Norm,

Can we move this to Voodoo, please. Otherwise, it's a 100-post thread on garbage.

Agreed and Norm should add a qualifier. Anyone who mentions "beast mode" as being real, gets permanently banned! There are other forums for nonsense like this.
