As far as her getting into the safe....Still to this day I have no clue.(she had to have been working with a casino somebody) I have stayed at the same casino since this happened. Tried all the YouTube gimmicks of breaking into room safes with no luck.

And no I did not report it. Since it was only a few grand I just blew it off as a lesson learned. And very embarrassing. It was just more upsetting that I let my guard down like I did and caved into temptation.

Years before this ever happened. I checked into the Paris, got in my room and the safe was locked. Maintenance came up and unlocked the safe. Took maybe at the most a minute. But it wasn't like the guy just waved a magic wand and was in. He had some mechanical thing to open it if I remember right. (Maybe some master key)

And yes I was very lucky it was only a few grand. Not life changing money. I had most of my cash on me.

    Next time... Escort service.

take a drive and go to the legal brothels. they try to rip u off but if you hold ur ground it is well worth the experience. No worry or diseases. They get checked ever week by the doctor and everything is coverd. When not using the legal services I just got for big boobs, a handjob and some ball slapping for safety as im paranoid about STDs

I tried it once, about 30 years ago. Drove the 70 odd miles, parked in a gravel lot in front of one large and a few smaller mobile homes. After I went in, back then, paid $50, was asked to sit down and wait. It’s about midnight. Here a bell ring someplace and about 10 women in loungerie, many obviously awoken from sleep, lined up, a couple smiling. One by one, they said their names. There was another guy had come in too so we both were seated. The other guy got up, mentioned one name and the lady stepped up, took his arm and left the room, I picked another and she led me through a narrow corridor to a small room, most of it taken by a double bed, a small sink in one corner. She was cute. She talked to me about options. The highest was a 2 girl party in a hot tub for an hour for some $800, that a session with her for 30 minutes was $100. I apologized, said I had only $70, thought the whole thing would be under $100. In any case, she said okay, set an alarm for 30 minutes on an old clock by her bedside stool. Asked me to undress, she did too. Then she took me to the sink, started washing my genitals (almost made me come). She then put a condom on me, lay down. A quick 5 minutes later, I was done. We still had 15 minutes left. I asked her questions, she said she was from Salt Lake City, works 2-3 weeks, twice each summer to earn money for school. I was up again, ready to go a quick second round but she said no, only once. She asked me to come again that if I bring a bit more money, she will really treat me special.

She was the most beautiful hooker I was ever with but driving 2 hours, spending over $130, for roughly 5-10 minutes was simply not worth it.

    Gentlemen
When out of town, far more economical to strip naked and look at yourself in the mirror. Helps preserve the monogamy of the situation.

There's an excellent point here hidden in the hooker thread.

I too am wary of safes (also, I quite often end up staying in lower-end hotel with no room safe). Yes, it is well known that the mostly poor quality hotel safes are not difficult to open. and all safes are of course vulnerable to inside help (manager's codes, tools etc).

It can be uncomfortable/impractical to keep your cash on you all the time. I leave mine in what can be termed a "hidden compartment", but I'm still looking for a better option.

A couple of years ago during the World Series of Poker in Vegas, a bunch of professional players had someone just walk in their rooms and steal all their cash out of their safes at the Rio while they were downstairs playing. Of course the Rio did not catch the robber(s) even with the abundance of cameras they have (gimme a break). That whole incident reeked of an inside job. Of course the casino/hotels don’t usually want to help you because 1. They could know security/employee is in on it, and that opens them up to huge liability and lawsuit. 2. The security personnel on property that you report the thefts to may very well be in on the theft.

A former BJ teammate of mine was staying at the Rio once and left about $4,000 on his dresser, along with a $300 pair of sunglasses. He went into the bathroom to take a shower. When he got out, everything on the dresser was gone. So definitely keep your eyes open at the Rio as I’m fairly certain inside jobs are common place there.

What I always do when I travel is never use the safe. If a robber gets into my room the first place they are going for is the safe. I usually will stash my cash in a private compartment that’s not easy to find, even if you ripped my room apart. Without getting too specific, this usually means hidden compartments in your luggage, hidden areas in your clothes, hidden in your stack of dirty underwear, or a place in the room a thief wouldn’t think to look. Just always keep it on your person with something like a zipper jacket, man purse, or whatever you want to utilize that you carry everywhere with you. This is what I do.

My advice is stay away from the safes in general, and always keep your eyes and ears open. Never let your guard down. Especially for some of us who carry life changing amounts of money in cash. This is not just about prostitution, but also a good general rule. For example after a big win and get my chips cashed out, I always look around if someone is watching me or following me, or following me while on a cellphone. I’ll take a detour if I suspect someone.

Keeping your money on your person wherever you go is always best imho. Another option is to keep the money in high denomination chips since no hooker is gonna be able to break down a 5k chip or 1k chips and get away with cashing it in without drawing some very serious attention. Though this is usually burdensome, so I just keep the cash on me at all times.

I have one of these: https://www.amazon.com/Master-Lock-5...dp/B005K6JQXQ/

It will hold 30K easily and 40K with a little muscle to close it. I use it in my car, but it certainly can be used in a hotel room, wrapping the steel cable around the leg of a piece of heavy furniture, if you think that's a better option than the room safe.

Does the steel cable come with it?

I rent a safety deposit box at a hotel I’m not staying at or playing at.

No Zee, the cable is only being advertised as one of the main features of that product because the cable isn’t included.

In case you missed Ryemo's sarcasm, the answer is yes. The steel cable locks neatly around the perimeter of the box when you don't need it and is available to wrap around something when you do need to secure it to another object.
