A long time ago I asked for a lower limit and bet more off the top. The Floor said she wouldn't grant me a lower limit again, and implied she knew what I was doing. I just said I didn't want to bet lower but I didn't want to sit down and feel like I must leave if I start losing. If I can bet less then I am more comfortable with the thought that I will be able to stay by lowering my bet. If I can't I will walk to the casino next door and see what their minimum is. She said that makes sense. But I never asked her to lower the limit again. I have asked and received table limit exceptions on both the low and high sides of the table limits. I don't recommend trying it though. There are too many ways it can blow up in your face for not much potential help to you.

That can certainly be true. In these situations however, all of the lower limit tables were completely full with people waiting, so it just looked like we were looking for another low limit table. As with much of the AP world, your behavior needs to be appropriate for the situation.

A shill is someone that will look at your play and try to determine if you have an advantage. If you suspect a shill joined your table, you need to leave as they will out you. I know, it happened to me. I noticed a guy raised his bet when I did. It went on for a little while and during a shuffle he tried to make small talk with me and mentioning our betting pattern is pretty similar, how long you been counting? I said I have no clue what you're talking about and ignored him. Shortly after he said as he was leaving to stop at the food court, i want to talk. I was leaving the place and went right by the food court, saw him and stopped for a second to ask what he wanted? He made some small talk about playing other games than BJ etc....then the casino manager came up to me and said....Mr X, no more blackjack, OK? I asked why and he said you're to good for us and walked away. I was set up by casino and that prick confirmed I might have skills. Be careful with people you don't know and if you think they are the casino or a shill, leave. No talk, no chit chat, just leave.

In my part of the world that combination along with the FBM ASC would be enough for security to ask you to leave although it may be tolerated in the HL room for a while if you were betting big enough.

A bit back, I was playing a min $25 game when this guy sat down. He absolutely stunk. He reeked from the obvious 5 packs of cigarettes a day that he was smoking. I said something rude to him as I changed seats, unable to tolerate the stench. Further, he was wearing a leather jacket, the leather which simply amplifies the disgusting odor he was emanating.

I forcefully requested he remove his jacket for the reasons previously mentioned. He left after 5 minutes. I wonder if it was because we did not establish a common karma.

Seriously, bad hygiene, including terrible body odor, is a good reason to ask someone to leave. Further, uts rumoured that I have difficulty saying what’s on my mind.
