Curious. Are the AP plays offered in ECAA still relevant today? That is, can you still find such +EV plays in today's casinos?

Sure, they could read the manual and dick around with the software and perhaps learn what they needed. Or, they could jump start the whole thing and get real lessons straight from the horses mouth (me, I'm the horse). During the class they might say things like "the manual says you can do X", and I would say "yes, it says that, but don't do that and here's why."

That's how it works in real life outside of the AP community. Whether it's through a bootcamp or not, we all pay for our AP education one way or another.
    Not with Hi-lo.

Why not ? North Cyprus +/- 20 casino. Rebate 10-30% any game. Roulette, card game and slots.

Whew, attack anybody who dares to go elsewhere for becoming an AP. The conceit is beyond belief. What you get by going to the boot camp is not just a 2 day workshop. You get continuous support, you get a network, and you get a forum of really polite posters who do not attack anyone.

Zee, did you go to their boot camp?

Not too bad. However, there is a catch:

    https://www.blackjackapprenticeship.com/bootcamp/

Keep scrolling until you hit the body of the page that list "What's My Investment."

Holy shit! Really? 3 grand to learn High Low?! In two days?

Maybe I'm spoiled because I have access to affordable literature that I bough from my local book store plus access to other AP's who are willing to point me in the right direction.

But, seriously? 3K? I imagine Tarzan's book is cheaper than this and offers a little more in terms of EV (going off Eric Farmers Perfect Play sim data https://www.blackjacktheforum.com/sh...r-optimal-play and Gronbog's sim data of T count https://www.blackjacktheforum.com/sh...l=1#post236595 )

Why not just get Wong's Professional Blackjack and learn either High Low or Halves? Most likely 100x cheaper.
The same guy does the private training for $4,999 which seems to be a better deal compared to $3,000 with a group.

Nope, nor am I on that forum (I did join for a year a while back) but it's ridiculous to be simplistic and criticize them for charging $2500 for a boot camp in Las Vegas.

It's like suggesting that Motel 6 is a better deal than a Hilton. If you can afford it, why not stay at the Hilton?

Look, not only does one learn a count but all the other BJ stuff, get to meet great AP's plus bond with others attending the boot camp. I wish I had learned while making close friendships with others at the same level. This solo gig is boring and stressful. It would be nice to have contacts in different places. Often, these camps lead to friendships and get togethers between attendees for years after the camp is over.

Those attacking are simplistic idiots with a need to put down others to feel superior.

If you have a $5,000 bankroll then this is not for you, on the other hand if your starting roll is $100,000 then maybe.........

You are missing the whole point of their offering..................but I agree it is expensive.

I have actually have had multiple players that were taught by BJA and they were all highly competent and good people. So the rate for their education may have been high but the results were exceptional.

Also, I know of no other person or organization that is producing the number of competent new AP's and I consider that a service to the AP community.
Luck is nothing more than probability taken personally!

I went to their Bootcamp. It paid for itself with the info I learned by networking at it. 3k is a bit much. They used to not charge so much. I think it's a supply and demand thing. They have a decently high demand even with those prices. If someone was willing to pay me 3k to teach them hilo of course I'd do it lol. If no one went the price would be a lot less. Famous people like Tommy Hyland sometimes show up and talk at them too. For someone new to counting who can afford the 3k price tag, it is worth it. They will check out your game and get you thinking like an AP in ways you won't necessarily find in the books. The best bit is the networking imo. Forming friendships with other counters is great in this otherwise lonely endeavour.

$3000 to learn Hi-Lo? With Wong's book and about an hour, I'll teach you Hi-Lo for a cup of coffee. Hell, I might as well gouge the fuck out of it also, so not just any ol' cup of coffee, we are talking Starbucks! Regardless of any esteem toward Tommy Hyland, I wouldn't pay $3000 to meet him. Hi-Lo is not all that difficult to learn, and it's easy enough to gather all the tools you need to do it for a lot less than $3000.
