He worked on the machine for quite a few minutes. Obviously he did not do this often. Not resetting it by unplugging the machine but just return to the root menu, then select the correct side bet to Luck Lady so the shuffler will generate the sequence suitable for LL and not paying too much to the customers. If the casino can do this to the side bet, imagine what they can do to the main game Blackjack.
Clearly, if this happened, against the law. You can’t screw with random probability, and expect to go unscathed. You should have reported it. It would have given credence, if proven, to your conspiracy allegations.

I really was surprised when I overheard the conversation. These side bets have 20% or higher house advantage. I cannot imagine the casinos still want to control the sequence of the cards and pay less.

Maybe they just wanted to mess with you. Wouldn't surprise me if you tell the same conspiracy stories at the tables.

Nah. I don't visit this casino much. The pit boss doesn't know me. As I said, he frustrated in bringing up the root menu then choose the correct function to set the side bet. OK. He did not say pay customer too much. He said the side bet payout is all wrong because this is PLUS THREE table and someone set it to LUCKY LADY. He did curse whoever set the machine wrong.

It is possible the ASM is rigged. But even if it is, the pit boss wouldn't know, and they sure as hell wouldnt tell the dealers. This goes way high up. If it was spread to dealers and pit bosses then this information would already be leaked.

When dealers paid out the side bet more than $150, he has to yell out the amount. After pay the side bet out quite a few times , the pit boss came to investigate. After checking the ASM status, he told the dealer that his predecessor set the side bet as Lucky Lady tables. The dealer was surprised like me. She said she doesn't know there is such a setting.

I never stated that the ASM makers did it with the intent to cheat and neither did I say that all casinos cheat. However, I would not be surprised if some casinos can use the sort function to sort cards the way they want and that they use it occasionally when they suspect someone is an AP at a table or do it at times.

That’s still screwing with principles of random probability. If caught, I would imagine that penalties would be severe.
