almost the end of the year --report

With about 20 hours of play left this December (all in one last 3-4 day trip to Las Vegas), the year was not as good as 2017 but okay for a recreational part time player.

Over the year, so far, I spent 402 hours (actually at table), spent $8,515 (airlines, car rentals, food, gas etc.), and won $32,115 playing 75% DD, 25% 6D games (about 75% rated, 25% anonymous). Its about $6k less in winnings than in 2017.

After almost 5 years, I finally burnt out all (the ones I played at) the local casinos. I did poorly in Las Vegas (8 trips) primarily because of high expenses (won $3380, played 110 hours had expenses of $2k) and playing too conservatively. I need to play more aggressively or cut down on expenses for Las Vegas but trips lose the fun quotient when I do that.

Coming year will be different because I will mostly play by taking trips. Hopefully I will be able to take more trips as my kid will get his own drivers license. I bought him a used Honda Fit and traded my Nissan 370Z for a used European luxury coupe a week ago.

Hope all of you have done much much better!

Nice, at least you got yourself occupied. Enjoy the retirement. Do you have Seven Star tier in CEC?

Congratulations Zee, very impressive results for 2018. I think you might be running above expected value, but you surely can't knock almost $80 an hour.

I think I'm done for the year. Right now this is my 4th best year out of the 33 years I've been playing. However, on a dollar per hour basis this year will be my second best year. My best year on a dollar per hour basis was last year which was way above expected value. However, my best year total dollar wise might have been a little below expected value but that year saw 782 hours of blackjack play which was 3 times as many hours that I played this year.

Congrats Zee. Nice post. You know what you need to do and seem resolved to do it. I hope you have the discipline to pull it off. That is the biggest struggle for most APs. It isn't knowing what to do. It is having the discipline to do it without deviation.

Thanks T3. Thanks MWP and Bubbles. Actually, I was a bit disappointed because I did better last year. Moreover, most of the time, most of the year, a majority of my wins came from local casinos and now, I am closed out on them. So now, I have to consider and plan travel a bit more carefully.

I also have to learn to play anonymously. I often used my players card to diffuse heat but I have to stop. I get disconnected with some pit (if they are looking suspiciously at me or are unfriendly, and settle for putting them at ease).

Minnesota, Wisconsin, Iowa are states That are within driving distance so, come Spring, may try them. Law Vegas is there as long as Frontier provides cheap tickets.

What a novel Idea. I wonder how he came up with that one...

Stop trying to incite, still childish. Maybe Norm can help guide you as to how to post and what lead to your being banned.

Norm, See again, who is starting this with their sarcasm?

Bank roll is around $75k but I prefer playing DD with a $25 - $150 spread (rarely a super max bet of $$250 if heat is low). I play 6 deck with a $10-$15 to 2 x $90 spread, singing out after 2 decks with a TC-2. Still trying to get confidence with 6 deck shoes.

I try and keep to a $2k loss limit on my sessions.

So, I was at a store in the Midwest, thought about wonging into this shoe, and this dark skinned guy, playing 1x15 to 2x90, stood up and belted out O Sol O Mio. I went to a new shuffle, not wanting any part of TC-2

Congrats on the results Zee, I know you catch a lot of flak but at the end of the day you seem to be getting what you want out of the game and showing a profit for it. Nice job.
