    KO or Hi-Lo?

Is anyone having success with KO? I have been using it for about a year now (playing very part time), I chose it b/c it was very easy to learn and use. I was having success early on, but am down for the year. I read something that suggested Hi-lo was the best and most accurate. Thoughts?

They are equal. Continue with KO and study TKO.

I agree. When I started, I used KO and it got the money. only reason I switched to HiLo was to use the same count for both BJ and Sp21. Had nothing to do with BJ results.

Hi-Low is not the best or most accurate. There are other more difficult counts than Hi-Low that are better, but harder to master.

To play with shoes you do not need to load your head with all sorts of rubbish. Hi Lo or KO it's good !

I would suggest that HiLo and KO are very close in efficiency.

KO can be improved by adding the concepts od Dravot in Color oF Blackjack. With those additions I would expect KO and Hi Lo to be very comparable.

As indicated in post above, there are more complex multi level counts that are stronger but more complex to learn and I presume execute.

Don't want to start a "mine is better than yours" count argument but my belief is that HiOPT II with Ace Side Count likely wins the comparison but is not, IMHO, for the casual or part time player due to difficulty of use.

While a count system is the foundation of an AP game, the additional things like game selection, betting, RoR and bankroll topics are at least equally as important. Make sure you include them in your training BEFORE you decide to go play.

Hiopt2/ASC definitely wins the best count when it is computer perfect. Not everyone is up to quarterdeck estimation accuracy. So, depending upon the individual, it doesn't necessarily win casino play. Modifications to Hiopt2/ASC to a balanced ace side count can take care of the deck estimation accuracy issue. Other casino play issues may also need to be addressed. Again, depending on the individual. What is the best counting system is completely dependent on the individual. Some may need to develop stronger skills when they change counts in order to get the gain they are hoping to get.

I'd say for the vast majority of counters Hi Lo would be best.

If you play predominantly pitch games then there is a strong argument for counts with better playing efficiency. Howeverp then it's an issue of whether the added difficulty is worth it. Anyone would agree that playing Hi Lo perfectly and effortlessly would be a lot better than struggling with a harder system.
