What level of comp would this earn?

So on the last night of my last BJ trip i saw a host at one of the bigger casinos on the strip. They checked my card and said i had 14 hrs of table play with an averge bet of $800.

I was offered a comped suite but i declined as i already had my accommodation booked and it was my last night in vegas anyway. So I just got a couple of comps for the buffet instead lol.

Just wondering on my next trip whether id be able to get a few nights of accommodation comped based on my past play Judging by the hosts reaction im assuming it wouldnt be a problem but i dont want to come across presumptuous.

$800 an hour Ev(assuming 1% edge)? 14 hours would be 11k plus . On the strip , really? Anything is possible .

If the host already offered you a comped suite, why wouldn't he offer you a comped suite in the future?

Probably get some offer in mail or after a few days after the trip, log into your awards program and you can see offers. For instance, I simply log into my MLife, Total Rewards or Boarding Pass site and check the offers, book online or call them. Some waive the Resort fee and some dont.

So, to respond to your question (which is different then to answer), suppose you play 14 hours at 75 rounds per hour with an average bet of $800 and the house theo edge is 1% (not to be confused with actual house edge).

    Then 14 X 75 rounds = 1050 rounds X 800 = 840,000 in action.

    840,000 in action X (-1%) = 8,400 in house theo

8,400 in house theo X (comp payout policy set by casino and varying by casino) 30% = 2,520 value of comp.

This is an illustration and is by no means standard anywhere. Comp systems are very complex and vary by player bet levels, machines played, day of week, holiday period, etc, etc, etc

Comp City by Max Rubin is very dated book but does elaborate on the concept of casino comps. Today most of it is centrally controlled by computers which limits the host range of offers.
Luck is nothing more than probability taken personally!

Not to hijack this thread and I do not want any sensitive information, but I gotta ask...How in the world does one get away with 14 hours of rated play during a stay with an average bet that high? I don't know how long your trip was, so I could be asking this under the false assumption that this was a short trip.

Don't do what counters do. I will not get into more detail. If you think about that and do it as much as is practical you can keep them undecided about you.

Trip was 10 days. The hours were spread across several sister properties.

Thanks for answering. I thought you had figured out some way to safely rack up those hours in one casino over the course of a couple of days. I was about to ask for your autograph, and get in line for your book. LOL
