    Question Anomalous Score?

    Score=DI^2
    DI=(Win/Rnd)/(Std/Rnd)*1000

    In the below graph, I select some random spread, the DI appears to be normal.
    (2.04/261.26)*1000=7.81
    normal DI?including negative counts.jpg

    In the below graph, I select the same spread but back count from TC 3, the DI turns out to be 7.83, while the calculation turns out to be 2.57!? Why is it?
    (1.42/551.8)*1000=2.57

    I have no idea why the back-counting Win/round says $1.42. That is clearly very wrong. If the average bet is $431.93 and the edge is 3.05%, then the win per round is $13.17. Now, the s.d. per round is $551.80, but you can't use those figures for the DI, because you're back-counting and you play only 10.7 rounds per hour. So, the hourly win rate is $140.96, and the hourly s.d. is sqrt(10.7) * $551.80 = $1804.98. So DI is 100*140.96/1804.98 = 7.81.

    Don,

    The "round" in "Win/round" is rounds seen, not rounds played. Because the Rounds/Hour spinner is set at the default of 100, the Win/round is 1% of the Win/hour.

    The Win per round played can be calculated two ways: the first is the method you used (multiply the Average Bet by the IBA); the second is to divide the given Win/round by the fraction of rounds played: $1.42/0.107 = $13.20. Both methods give the same result (to within the round-off error, that is).

    Hope this helps!

    Yes, thanks. Understood. But, as you saw, this approach can cause confusion when trying to calculate the DI and SCORE properly for backcounting.

    Thanks, so I guess a one size fits all method to calculate DI for both "play all" and "back counting" could be:
    DI=(Win/hr)/(Std/hr)*100
