    Value of Penetration Illustration

Some time ago, I created this chart to illustrate the value of pentration for the 6 deck game. I used CVCX with optimal betting with a 10K bank and then at varying penetration levels starting at 78 cards.

The middle section of the chart illustrates the edge improvement in raw numbers and the right sections illustrates the % improvement over 78 cards.

The results of the analysis where, for me, very eye opening and should promote such analysis with the games you are making selection decisions about.

Thanks Stealth, The cut card at 78 is most common, follow by 52 if you scout hard enough, 39 and 26 is dream if not to say unrealistic.

Try including the ace side count with Hiopt2. My sims don't have Hilo ever coming close to Hiopt2 except for backcounting. But even then it isn't that close, it is just much closer. You are obviously doing something wrong.

He is or isn’t doing something wrong. Quite possible he imported data from qfit, where it is specifically known that info in tables for ace neutral counts does not include sidecounts.

Has nothing to do with why Hi-Lo would outperform RPC. There is no circumstance in a 6-deck game where that would make any sense or be true. Just look at BJA3, p. 172.

He was commenting on hilo blowing away Hiopt2 at deep pen being wrong.

I found an 8 deck game at Excalibur's with half deck cut off, once.
