Wong-in means entering a shoe which has started already, when the count is positive (and you have that information by back-counting, meaning counting as a spectator, not playing). Wong-out means leaving the shoe when the count isn't high enough for you to have an advantage over the game, not waiting until the end of the shoe and playing with a bad expectation).

To sum it up, the concept of "Wong in / Wong out" is pretty much to play ONLY when you have an advantage over the game.

Try to read some documentation (this site has loads) to get familiar with these terms and their concept (or best, read Stanford Wong's book "Professional Blackjack").

Hope I've been clear, English isn't my native language either.
You didn't answer the question, which was, when you Wong in, must you have started backcounting the shoe from the very beginning, right after the shuffle, or may you begin backcounting after the shoe has already begun (but near the beginning)?

And the answer, of course, is that, while the former is preferable, the latter is also acceptable, if you just mentally place the cards that you missed at the back of the shoe.

    Hey Don,

I got it now, had to read twice to understand what he meant, and I think you got it right and I didn't. But on the previous page he didn't seem familiar with the concept of Wi/Wo, so I feel like leaving my message instead of removing it cannot hurt the OP even if I'm off-topic on that precise question if you don't mind.
Wayne Gretzky once said that you miss 100% of the shots you don’t take. Life’s too short for regrets.

Sure, no problem. The two answers together pretty much cover the concept.

    Go to sleep; it's late!

    Thanks Don and thanks Letangs.
Yep, my question was that: if a strategy of w in and w in can include the possibilty, when I w out from a table, to go to another One already started, and after counting a few hands, if count is positive, to bet (but sounds like "following the flow, not counting properly).
I don't understand what Don said about "mentally place the missed cards".

    I don't understand the strategy.
New shoe: I backcount, I w in when positive, and w out when negative. So, I can continue ho count the same table, and w in again if becomes positive again, or I can ho ti another.
4 exemple, in the other table has been dealt 1,5 deck yet. In this situations, without knowing current count, how do I have to do?
Avoid the table and looking 4 an other?

Can I think about It in terms of dealt decks?
If Yes, what is your advice as "acceptable" Number of dealt decks to start counting in a shoe already started?

Thanks 4 advice about the wong book, I'll get It asap

    2 casinos closer to me.
    In One, hand shuffles.
In the other the same, but there is a second dealer Who shuffles, optimizing time

    Bet. I don't remember, I think minimum 5 max 200
In tables with minimum 10, 400 maximum. But I'm not sure about It.

Is your answer: Yes, it's beatable? or that if someone tells that this kind of game is beatable, he's crazy and he'll ho broke soon or later?
    Thanks
    Ciao GogoCity,

What Freightman is saying is that if you just watch and don't play, you can keep the count and only enter the game when it is profitable i.e positive true counts. Otherwise it will cost you money minimum betting all the time because the profitable edge will be in favour of the casino for too much of the time while you wait for that true count (t.c)... just when it is arriving the plastic cut card comes out... this technique of watching until it is profitable is called "wonging in" it's named after Stanford Wong who wrote Proffessional Blackjack, a great book that you should buy.

I've been playing in Western Europe for two years and it is very bad, either C.S.Ms (continuous shuffle machines) or really bad penetration.

In bocca lupo per il tuo apprendimento e ci vediamo in Vegas baby! Or maybe eastern Europe... hmmm..

That's my bar mitzvah parshah (seems like it may be yours too). but seeing how it took me over six months to prepare for it, you'd never catch me leining again. (well, you'd never catch me in shul again to begin with.)
