I started with $1,000. Yes it took a few months.

So with basic strategy and using a partial flat bet until i make a profit then betting bigger with that profit. Quitting shoes after 2k wins and going home, coming back 2 weeks later and doing it again. 1st, 2nd, 3rd fridays i was up 1k to 2k each time. After that i would hit 4k and that is usually the sweet spot now for me to stop. Now i am at $19,775 in two envelops. I am not counting at all, unless its just a freak thing that maybe my bet was timed on the nose without me knowing because i wouldn't know anyway about counting. Seems to work for me but i am sure that big loss is around the corning, but i hope not.

I have left the casino a couple of times due to the dealer one upping the whole table. I would just pack up and leave. Hmmmmm

But, like i said, i play basic strategy very strictly and i don't bat an eye when hitting a 16 hand, splitting 8's against dealers 10, doubling a soft 18, etc etc.

I always play 100 minimum, 4 deck, always hand shuffled.

So here is my question now....what the hell am i doing right, is it basic strategy or am i just getting lucky and leaving at the right time? I have had a 3k downswing where i didnt win a hand but i just flat betted that, stopped, grabbed a bite to eat, and went back later and got back that 3k and made about 2.5k on top of that.

    I honestly dont get it.
you didn't leave at the right time, the right time to leave is before you lay your first bet

You have a gamblers perspective about money management and have no idea what you are doing.

When, in my previous post, I said you have a 100% chance of going broke within 100 hours of table time with your 19,000, I was not kidding.

All that play until I win or lose an amount and take a break when they are running bad is unmitigated bullshit. Your actions are that of a gambler and a continuation of this play will get you your reward.

And, finally, either learn to count or recognize you are a gambler and the money you use is for entertainment. Or quit, but if you have now intention of listening to those here who have experience then stop posting your silly perspectivevs.

Ha! What did you expect? A pat on the back because you got lucky? Nobody was being disrespectful. The real problem is nobody told you what you wanted to hear.

Sounds like you have no intentions of making improvements to your game and you’ll just continue down your current path. Let us know how that works out.

I feel bad for this guy. Probably was so proud of all he's done due to his "superior money management skills" and pissed at the outrageous comments undermining his ability and telling him to learn to play for real. He's going to keep doing what he's doing to try to prove something, and is in for a rude awakening.

I recall someone (an AP) describing blackjack like a bi-polar girlfriend on meth. If you have long winning streak, with a win many times above the expected value, it's easy to delude yourself into thinking that you're the most skilled player in the world. Then a long losing streak can make you think that the math doesn't work. The nature of the game makes it addictive to loosing players.

After 100,000 hands the chance of the average player (non-counter) being ahead is 1 in 335 or 0.298%. (see link). The OP should quit while he/she is ahead and consider learning how to play with an advantage if he/she wants to play in the future.
