you didn't leave at the right time, the right time to leave is before you lay your first betObviously i am new and when reading through this thread as time goes on, i am definitely a ploppy but i do play basic strategy, still a ploppy though.
I started with $1,000. Yes it took a few months.
So with basic strategy and using a partial flat bet until i make a profit then betting bigger with that profit. Quitting shoes after 2k wins and going home, coming back 2 weeks later and doing it again. 1st, 2nd, 3rd fridays i was up 1k to 2k each time. After that i would hit 4k and that is usually the sweet spot now for me to stop. Now i am at $19,775 in two envelops. I am not counting at all, unless its just a freak thing that maybe my bet was timed on the nose without me knowing because i wouldn't know anyway about counting. Seems to work for me but i am sure that big loss is around the corning, but i hope not.
I have left the casino a couple of times due to the dealer one upping the whole table. I would just pack up and leave. Hmmmmm
But, like i said, i play basic strategy very strictly and i don't bat an eye when hitting a 16 hand, splitting 8's against dealers 10, doubling a soft 18, etc etc.
I always play 100 minimum, 4 deck, always hand shuffled.
So here is my question now....what the hell am i doing right, is it basic strategy or am i just getting lucky and leaving at the right time? I have had a 3k downswing where i didnt win a hand but i just flat betted that, stopped, grabbed a bite to eat, and went back later and got back that 3k and made about 2.5k on top of that.
I honestly dont get it.
