From what I remember, there are fewer professional type jobs in LV and the pay was generally not competitive with other areas of the country although no state taxes is a huge plus.

I think living there you can find a way to fit in and things you enjoy, make it as expensive or inexpensive as you want just about no matter who you are which can’t be said for many areas.

Washington state has a lot of low limit BJ for a smaller BR, no state taxes, most likely better more varied employment options but cost of living is higher than LV at least around the Seattle metro area.

Yeah i scratch my head when i hear people say theres no good games in vegas unless you are playing green chips. Open your eyes and get off the strip. There are dozens of good games with $5 and $10 minimums

Missouri is good. There are local casinos and flying to Las Vegas is cheap (under $250, round trip) and PA is not too expensive to getgo. Job Market at present is very good for the educated professionals.

It would be nice to rebuild my bank and also have many decent games there to keep my game in shape. Looking for a place to start over and I figured as a card counter what better place than Las Vegas.......
To answer your question. Yes, living in Las Vegas is feasible. I actually know couple of people who live in the Las Vegas area and they have pretty successful careers as professional engineers. Well, one or two of them graduated from the University of Nevada in Las Vegas. One engineer that I know she has a mathematics degree and she has a career as a professional engineer. Sometime the American Society of Civil Engineers have events and meetings out in the Las Vegas area. You just have to network with the right people.

The job market is not good for educated professionals in Pennsylvania. Maybe you are talking about Missouri I think.

Really? I just read an article saying Pittsburgh was the #1 job market in the country these days. Phila area has always been decent. Maybe you're referring to the rest of the state, which is pretty much rural.

Phila area hiring rate has gone down. Philadelphia stuck period! Pennsylvania seasonally unemployment rate when up actually. I don't know why Pittsburgh unemployment rate remains low.

I was going to mention that as well. I've spent a fair amount of time playing a WI shoe game with LS,DAS,RSA,DOA,6D,H17,3:2,75+% pen - tables range down to $5 min and up to $500 max - not high enough max for some people here, but plenty for me.

As far as I know only one casino in WI offers late surrender, but I found the tables always quite crowded there except in high limit. However, high limit is not really that high. I believe they offer a 3:2 single deck game starting at $15 min in high limit. The last time I was there table mins on weekends were $10 on shoe games and $25 min on double and single deck.
