How useful are smart phones on teams?

How much use are team players making of smart phones for call-ins, count transmission, and the like? Benefits are obvious but does it draw heat? Can the eye read your screen?

And what about smart watches? Are they allowed at the table, or does that become an electronic "cheating" device?

I thought about this not long ago, it's cheating if they caught you, the risk is too great for me.

Is it cheating anytime you're in the casino or just at the table?

Just curious, is using non-electronic device cheating by law? Such as telescope.

I believe using a device to gain an advantage is cheating. If you’re not at the table when acquiring information (EG the count) then that is considered cheating, AFAIK.

I would NOT use a phone to transmit information on the count and whatnot. Way more risk than it’s worth IMO.

Used phones to communicate with other team members but never about playing specifics (count, etc). Also used extensively for recording detailed session results.

Most all communications using phones used special texting threads with controlled access.

Communicating counts and call ins are all done person to person.

Yes, phones can be read with cameras and must be held upright when using to prevent such capture.
Luck is nothing more than probability taken personally!

Though I presume if youre using them in such a manner you'll have a code anyways. In which case purposely showing the screen to reveal totally innocent texts couldnt be bad I imagine
