    What is this promotion worth?

    Hi all

Found at an online casino in the UK:

Standard UK Rules(no hole card) , 4 Deck, DAS, Stand on Soft 17, no surrender - house edge around 0.47%.

When you have a winning hand greater than 5 cards, 5 Card Trick as its sometimes known, you win 5x your stake. Would this take away more than ~.50% from the HE?

Also, are there any adjustments to basic strategy because of this promo?

Any help would be greatly appreciated,
    Sefwow

So you need 6 cards without busting or 5 cards without busting?

6 cards adds 0.16% so I'm guessing you just do 0.16x5= 0.8% added

5 cards and your printing money

No. The 0.16% is not the gain for winning the hand it is the gain for getting that many cards without busting. It's an auto-win. Here you must beat the dealer with that many cards. The gain from the 6 card charlie rule is from when you would have lost (2 units extra) or pushed (1unit extra) but won instead. The OPs scenario that gain doesn't exist. The gain you get is from being paid an extra 4 units if you beat the dealer but you still lose or push if that would be the outcome of your hand without the rule. That is a totally different thing. The 6 card charlie rule adds nothing if you would have won the hand anyway.

But given that you win and lose hands with roughly the same frequency, shouldn't that even out in the end?

Sorry misread then. Had in my head 6 card charlie being worth 0.16% to your ev.

Still, winning 5x the bet with 5 cards or more sounds very good. You will be hitting way more hands. I would guess you would hit on any 4 card soft hand vs bust cards, for example hit 4 card 19 20 or 21 vs 2 through 6. Vs 7 8 9 10 i doubt youre hitting them, but still might be as a 4 card soft 21 is likely to make a 5 card 21

Interesting rule. If you can memorize all the right CD plays it's a +EV:

    TD: -0.216073104598535%
    2C: -0.204793093329176%
    CD: 0.117397419442604%

    Original without the bonus:
    TD: -0.463758874781915%
    2C: -0.459014155507451%
    CD: -0.45739401188969%

There's no reason to have to pay anyone for the analysis. Just use my CA, it's free and handles this rule easily. You can analyze all the individual hands you want with it too since it specifies exceptions (e.g. 2T, a lot of soft hands, etc.).
