    Offtopic: Chess

Are there any chess enthusiasts around?
Was thinking if there were enough it would be fun for us to have a tournament.
We could use chess.com, players can coordinate date and time of their matches.
Maybe even charge an entry fee?
    Winner takes all?
    Any takers?

Don't go there. It's not legal in the U.S. to do this, even if you return all the prize money. You can't run a lottery across state lines.

Use to have the Candidate Master title in US but I'm not playing seriously for over 25 years!I would prefer by far a Blitz tournament which eliminate a lots of internet consuting on a particular variation.

Hmmm, might try my modified Sicilian. It has a unique configuration. I call it “The Inverted Snatch”.

    Perhaps, a different perspective.

it's a big, big problem in competitive chess online.

there is very little trustworthiness in the modern world, sadly.
Lol, I immediately thought the exact same thing. Only takes one person to use a bot or AI of some sort and that person will ruin it for everyone else. Not that I ever got into chess.

I would be willing to let you chess experts humiliate me if no money was involved. I haven't played in decades and was a big fish in a very little pond when I did play. Anyone with real skills would have beaten me at least 9 out of 10 times. But the circles I played in I was competitive to be modest.
