Not optimal. Closer to 2x400. Note the effect of card Eating on EV.

If your RoR is low enough, the stakes shouldn't bother you. Having some emotion regarding your bet is a good thing for theatrics. It helps the pit think you might not be counting. If you seriously just can't handle the bet jump, even though your RoR is small, then increase up to it slowly or just keep it low if you're content with the EV.

I sort of get not wanting to put out larger bets. My betting has more or less stayed the same no matter how much my BR has grown and I intend to keep it that way. An exception would be if I'm at a place I think can take larger action, I give it to them. I don't really think much of it. They're just chips.

you dont...you cant fret the big bets when you should be embracing the opportunity...while 3 hundy may fit your br, doesnt sound like it fits your personal risk tolerence...go back to 100. Or perhaps smaller jump

Any thought about this subject ?
You have to learn to understand that all those $300 bets you make will give you in the neighborhood of $3 to $4 in positive EV every time you make the bet. Even though in high counts you may win or lose large sums of money you cannot let meaningless session results become a distraction to what you are doing.

It is not optimal for EV but it does reduce variance at the same EV. 2X400 provides more EV at ~same variance as the 1X600.
Luck is nothing more than probability taken personally!
