I tell him/her to go lookup a book entitled "How to build a time machine". In the UK s/he'd need it. On a more serious note I'd suggest they directed their energies towards something else... (unless of course they were prepared to travel and put up with a ton of ag).

If the question is simply "I want to learn how to count cards" any of the books mentioned would do the trick. I taught myself using this website https://www.gamemasteronline.com/ Then bought the KO book. That's been almost twenty years ago, I haven't looked through the website in a long time. But what I remember was good basic info to get started.

I would echo what Munchkin says, go learn BS and come back. Being able to learn BS 100% is a good indicator if someone will be able to have the dedication to learn to become a winning player. Its very rare to see any ploppy play absolutely perfect BS. There are many times when someone playing perfect BS ends up being a counter.

BJTF is an advantage player site based on the principles of comity. That is, civil and considerate behavior for the mutual benefit of all involved. The goal of advantage play is the legal extraction of funds from gaming establishments by gaining a mathematic advantage and developing the skills required to use that advantage. To maximize our success, it is important to understand that we are all on the same side. Personal conflicts simply get in the way of our goals.
