I’ll add one my comment for those that care. I’m a red chipper so I can get away with things a high stakes player could never get away with. I can spread from 1-20, even 1-30, on a single deck game and I won’t get a “check play”. If I only stay at the table for 2 hours or less, the pit doesn’t even watch me play. If someone did what I was doing playing green or black, they wouldn’t last long. How do I know? I told a higher stakes AP about my 6-5 game and he played it and got backed off and treaspassed in about an hour. I’ve played it for several years now when I’m in the area and never had a problem. But even I don’t camp out at it. I’m sure if I camped out for 8 hours spreading 1-30 on a single game, they would eventually back me off too.

Being a red chipper, I’m never going to make a lot of money but it’s worked for me. I’m not only playing for the money. It’s fun, relaxing and I enjoy the comps, and shooting the breeze with the ploppies, dealers and pit critters. The dealers and pit critters have given me some good pointers on what they look for when it comes to counters, and what they will tolerate.

I do enjoy single deck, even 6-5, due to how volatile the count is so I play it when I find good ones. It makes DD feel like a shoe game. A casino next to me recently opened a single 3:2 game I really like. My problem is I’m probably playing it too much. Like Flash said, you never know when there’s heat until there’s heat, or something to that effect.

You did not mention that in those two hours you only played through two shuffles or about seven minutes total. Considering that:

Whats your point Bosox? You like to take two different times and try to connect them together. I’ve been playing for 20 years. Do you think I talk to ploppies, dealers and pit critters constantly everytime I’m playing? Come on now. You’re smarter than that. Yes, there are times I relax in a casino and talk to people, and there are times I play and don’t talk.

Btw, the time I had a lengthy conversation with a pit critter and lottered around the casino for an hour was a Sunday morning when I was waiting for someone to checkout of the hotel. We were leaving and I wasn’t going to play that morning. I was just killing time waiting for the rest of the group to checkout. You know some people can take a while to get going. I thought I’d be down there for 10 mins waiting, but it turned out to be an hour. But it was okay. I had a good time talking to pit critters while I was waiting.

Why does it feel like every post you're put through the third degree questions with APs? They always try to find some technicality in a post that is incorrect. Some APs (not all) need to start relaxing and not take everything so literally and seriously. It’s not good for your health.

The main reason I play the 6:5 games I’ve found is because I used Norm’s products and got a SCORE above 100. I obviously don’t like 6:5 but if the SCORE is above 50, I play it. Your SCORE rating system is what drives my decisions on the games I play. The 6:5 game I play has higher SCORES than most of the DD 3:2 games I play. I also realize I need to play the games casinos offer
This is funny when going back and read your first post only to learn 8 pages later that your a red chipper. It reminds me of a thief telling how easy it is to get away with rubbing a bank only to learn later on that his expertise is in the candy robbery at the general store! Things aren't that easy when we speak about getting the REAL money out of a casino without getting barred...

In fact, I did this again last night. 15 minutes later, the guy and his g/f were STILL at this 4 deck, 6:5 CSM. As the saying goes, "You can't fix stupid!"

I understand your point G Man. But I have never claimed to be anything else. I’ve made many posts on this forums letting everybody know my stakes and why I play. The people attacking me know me from these posts. They know I’m mostly a low stakes red chipper. If you noticed, I did not comment on your original post. I only commented when other people like Freightman, Three and others made favorable comments about the 6:5 game.

There are actual two different debates going on here: 1) Will what you’re recommending have any impact on getting rid of 6:5 and 2) Can the 6:5 game be beaten?

By the way, I have read in one of Arnold Snyder’s books that APs crushed a game that was called “Super Fun 21” in the distant past. It only paid 1:1 bj. I don’t think that game is around any longer. The game I play is close in rules to the “Super Fun 21”

Why can’t someone play the game for other reasons than trying to extract serious money from the casino? I like the challenge of the game and I enjoy single deck since it moves faster and gives me more opportunities for playing deviations.

One more comment, I know an MIT person who helped put himself through college counting cards. He did this as a lone wolf, driving down to Atlantic City, before the famous MIT teams were formed. His roommate works for me and has a PhD. I actually have quite a few PhDs who work for me. None of them are card counters, but they know I do this in my spare time. I’m sorry if my playing stakes don’t meet your approval.

Dbs, I am theorizing what you do base on how you projected yourself to this board. Which is rather very nonchalant behavior and a rather careless attitude on the game itself.

Let agree to disagree. Casinos have right to offer lousy games like 5% HE (double 0 roulette) or 10% slots etc. The players have right to walk away or protest or play. Should we move to better subjects like how to use the counts information to win the game? To me this thread is closed.

Do any of you bitch about the 6% or higher sales taxes in most states? I'd rather that go down before a silly blackjack games house edge does.
