    Always asked for ID

So, I know you probably shouldn't play rated if you plan to extend your longevity. However, I look extremely young, (I serve as a mentor to high school students and get mistaken for them) and am always ID'd before I can play.

Since they always take my ID, and I can't avoid it, is there much hope to trying to count? Should I just play rated since they have my ID anyway?

In theory, the casinos can only read your birthday, verify you are indeed the person in the photo and do nothing else. But in reality, it is another story.

Same for me, though I am actually just a year out of high school :-P, but they (security) just checks my ID when I first enter the building, and they just give it a quick glance for my birthday.. it doesn't really worry me

I'm not saying this is the best advice, but here're some ideas.

Go to a security booth and ask them for a wristband because you keep getting ID'd. They'll check your ID, verify you're 18/21+, then give you a wristband. The obvious downside to this is that you're going straight to security and just giving up your ID to them. Although that's probably safer than giving your ID to the floor person. Once you get to the table and you get ID'd, show them the wristband. They should be fine with that and not pester you for ID. If they do pester you more for ID....I don't really have any advice there, other than maybe just give it up OR (if you think it may be heat related) you can act disgusted that everyone keeps wanting to ID you even though you got a wristband from security showing you're of age...then leave.

Alternatively, just show your ID right when you're buying in. Hopefully the dealer will check your ID and give it back before a floor person comes by.

Other idea is to try to look older. Don't wear a hoodie, shorts, and a hat that says "YOLO" or some sh** on it. Wear some decent clothes (not necessarily "dressed up"), a watch that isn't cheesy looking, and be more confident (don't meagerly approach the table kind of thing).

If you're talking about the security at the front of the casino entrance (more common in the Midwest and South), there isn't really a way around showing ID there. There is a way you can "sort of" get around it -- which would be to go through, show ID. Walk around for a few minutes (not too long), then leave through the same entrance. Tell the security person you're just going out to your car to get something that you forgot, or ask where some 'X' area is that you know is outside of the casino area. Hopefully, when you return, they won't ID you because they remember you. The idea is if you draw some heat at the tables and they backup the tapes, they'll see you entering the casino without being ID'd. Obviously this isn't fool proof, but it may be the difference between them figuring out your name and them not.

Don't be surprised when they ask if you've heard the good news about prohibition ending.

Yeah, now that weed is becoming legal everywhere...
Oh, I guess you meant the prohibition that nobody alive can remember. The ones that are still alive can't remember much of anything anymore.

Just want to mention that different getups work for different people. (You know that, obviously, but just for other people/lurkers reading, in case they will benefit). For myself, for example, I've found the less professional/decent looking the better for my cover. Of course, I don't have the issue of looking too young, so it's really a different problem being solved. Just a tourist who doesn't care how he looks cause he's there to see the town and gamble a bit, no one to "look good" for. Anyway, my only caution here is that sometimes looking well-put-together can make you look like a better player (at least, the times I've been backed off have been times I've been better dressed).

I actually really like the wristband idea as well as show the dealer (or even the PC) your ID when you sit down, since you know you look young and "they'll ask for it anyway". That way they'll have less good reason to ask for it when they're concerned about your play. You probably still will get carded at the cage if you're cashing for any medium to large amount, so make sure to keep those reasonably sized and hit different shifts.

Curious if anyone has experienced a different likelihood of getting carded at the cashier based on if there is a line to cash out (i.e. trying to move things along quickly)? If so, might also make sense to hang in the area (watch some craps or roulette) and hoping a queue forms at some point and hopping in it.

a little different....but for kicks I had my 10 son buy a $5 race ticket Derby Day this year....at a connected Casino I've been trespassed....LOL....I was standing over 20 ft away w/ my back to the cashier...no one could have thought we were togehter

Of course, he WON....paid around $30 and, of course, I had to complete the transaction....YES, they paid him!!!!....I was standing ~15 ft away w/ my back to the cashier...heard her say, "what do you want to do with it, honey"....he said, "cash it"...and she did.....too funny....should've got it on tape and sued THEIR asses

(for clarity, I wasn't tresspassed, rather sent a certified letter that I would be if caught on any property, or affiliated property) - i did give my son "the talk"...no, not that one...the one about cops harassing me to don't let it bother you....

"The talk" with my son is going to be very different too. It starts with do you have a warrant?

One of my local store always ask for ID or player card on DD tables, if you refuse they wont let you play. They said you can play on any other games without ID/card but their shoe is 8D and SD is 6/5 and deal only to prox 35 max cards. Suck
