That excuse does not wash anymore. I believe it is based on who is doing the talking, as there is an inconsistent latitude.

In the overall scheme of things, little of this is of value...............................

He relies on us to flag problems. See that little triangle icon with the exclamation point in it under each post on the bottom left next to "blog this post". That is the "report post" icon. Use it when you think Norm should review the post it is under or thread in an administrational capacity.

Thanks I was aware of this and used it a few times but quickly realized by putting our objections out in the open we might have a better chance of solving the problem. Rather than always kicking the can down the road to fester even more. Besides someone needs to be around too keep all the children in order.

I hunt. In most places the DNR, Natural Resources Police, can make you feel harassed even though you do nothing wrong. You waste a lot of time being checked when they go fishing for violations. A lot of the Pitman Roberts Fund money, the fund is 100% funded by hunters' license fees and uses the money to buy and maintain most of the parkland everyone enjoys, is wasted funding too many overzealous officers. Some officers do their job in a reasonable way. I have hunted public land that allows the hunters to police themselves by calling in the issues that need to be addressed. When an officer shows up to investigate he just investigates the problem he was sent to address. There is no fishing expedition. I can tell you that being responsible enough to police ourselves to determine when an investigation is warranted saves a lot on resources and is much better for the users of the resource. This is a forum. If what is going on doesn't bother anyone, is there really a problem? If it does bother someone then they report it and let the administrators do their thing. What could be more efficient?

I have to disagree with this one because of the fact that the triangle notification method does not let the accused know who is complaining, rather underhanded.

Just because no one complains about something does not mean it does not upset them. Besides we have set rules in place. They do not say the only way they will be enforced is if someone presses a triangle button.

You are free to both use the triangle and write a post if that is how you like to operate. Condo associations don't want the neighbors knowing who is complaining because that can start feuds. You are supposed to take your complaint to the association and have them complain for you. It is probably best to do the same here or PM the offender. As we have seen feuds are not pretty and can take forever to run their course. The damage to the community as a whole that ensues is why the go betweens are so important.

As everyone has seen I have warned most banned members of the posting guidelines when they were transgressing so bad a banning would occur if they wouldn't correct themselves.Ver few heeded my advice and most of the ones that didn't listen are now banned. I was never complaining about them. I was just giving them friendly advice. Then after being banned, as expected, they go to other sites and say I petitioned Norm for a banning which was never the case. They also talk about how wrong Norm was when every reasonable person knew the ban would come if they didn't change their ways. Some people are just too thick headed for their own good. I have never used the triangle reporting feature except for spammers and scammers.

Your comment seems to indicate you believe some people deserve insults while others don’t. I don’t believe anybody deserves insults, especially if they are just expressing a view different than the majority. Friendly jabs yes, insults no.

I’ve always given Freightman a pass on this because if he couldn’t post insults he wouldn't be able to post. It’s about the only thing he’s good at. Btw, he’s been calling people names and insulting people long before I got on this site. He’s basically the forum bully.

Everyone makes there own choices in life. You seem to be going to the extreme to not use the triangle report post option. That is your choice. How the site is run is not up to us but we have been given the chance to vote on things and, for better or worse, plurality set the rules made by Norm. How Norm has them enforced is his option. All we can do is make Norm aware of what is going on if we so choose. I think that is a better deal than you get on any of the other sites.

This thread has now become the most asinine incrimination of a large number of supposed intelligence people.

    130 entries....???????????? For what?

Can we get back to relevant subjects that might actually help someone?
