Thanks, Hal. I completely missed those Pequot tables and I know exactly where they are.

For anyone doing a quick walk through Foxwoods, there is a quick way to scan for 6:5 or 3:2. If it's 6:5 the actual 6:5 on the felt is in red while the 3:2 is in yellow. The Fox Tower still has one $1 table that is obviously 3:2. The 25 cent ante is waived with a $10 or higher bet but it is dealt from a CSM and the max bet was $50 last time I checked. Have you seen or heard of any red chip players being backed off?

I'm not a private member so I can't view the Eastern section. Is there anything you can share here?

    Mohegan Sun

I cut and pasted...I hope this isn't against forum rules! 8^)

The number of available blackjack tables has dramatically shrunk! The casino of the wind, which some years ago was touted as the next big expansion of Mohegan, was boarded up! There used to be three blackjack pits, roulette, craps and the poker room. There were also a couple of restaurants. I have many fond memories playing there when I played full time. It used to be open every day. Then it was open only Friday to Sunday. Then I think it opened only Saturday and Sunday. Now it no longer is open! That shows how long ago I was there.

The smoke free gaming section has fewer tables now too. Some have been replaced by Spanish 21. For a early Sunday afternoon, there were about six BJ tables available.

The main pit in the casino of the sky which is near the exit to the parking garage is still standing although by 1 pm they didn't seem in any rush to open it. The little pit which stood just a few steps away from it is no longer. It has been replaced by video slot machines.

The higher limit pit across from the Sol Toro is still functional. When I was there they were just getting it opened. It is open on the weekend. I am not sure if the playing conditions are the same as the HL rooms. In the past it was always a good spot to play since it scared away novice players with its $25+ minimums.

Back on the other side to what long time patrons call the "old casino" officially the "Earth" casino, that is still fairly much the same. The main pit is 3:2, H17, 8D, and the cut is almost one deck off depending on the dealer. You will find that all over the casino on the main floor. The 6:5 games are a few steps away from the main pit in the Earth casino and also at the sports bar. Those definitely have low limits. The 3:2 games were mostly $25 minimums although a couple of $15 tables were available.

The best BJ at Mohegan is in the HL pits. You can find $50 minimums, S17 I believe, and I definitely saw the dealer shuffle 6D. So, I guess they changed the HL pit next to the Chinese games back to what it was.

BigJer, you asked about lodging...Mohegan opened up about a year ago a second hotel tower. All around the property are many hotels which have sprung up to host mostly casino guests. They all provide shuttles to the casino. One off campus hotel I believe is also owned by Mohegan. So, there is a lot of availability.

What I mean is I only want 3/2/ The fact they went to 6/5-I would stay away as well as calling those players suckers. Foxwoods was advertising 3/2 and I figured they would win back the market.

You can always get a 3:2 table at Foxwoods. In fact, the only tables open 24/7 are all 3:2 and most are $10 minimums until the evening. The 6:5 tables don't open until just before noon.

I did another walk through today. The breakdown at Foxwoods is now 59 6:5 tables and 22 are 3:2. The single $1 table is also 3:2. That's a sum of all the main floors. I'm posting this so Foxwoods will see it and know that someone is keeping an eye on them. I doubt that they care.

Mohegan sun is just as bad. They have some ASMs and they still require the dealers to do a partial shuffle when changing decks in the machine. To further slow the game they have added a third side bet to all tables, even high limit. They were too cheap to get new felts so they put stickers on the felts. They lift up and come loose after a day, probably with a little help.

Wow. I guess they just don’t give a shit about the pressure from MA. I would go hit Springfield before I play 6:5 or pay an ante to play

    Thanks -
I was looking at the low table minimum that has 3/2 so now I know, daytime they still have them.

Just an idea - should the casino's reduce the bet size range but have what I call real blackjack? 3-2 on naturals and dealer stands on all 17's.
As an example, normally we see 10-1,000 or 15-1,000 or even 25-1,000
Why not have it be 10-100 or 15-150, 25-250, 50-5,000 etc....

Obviously, casino's changed the games because they are in business to make money, not to lose to an AP player.

Why not just limit the bet size range.
I have seen video's where the staff tells an AP that they can only play if they maintain the same bet size. That seems unfair because the bet size sign says, 10-1,000.
Why not find the middle ground?

Otherwise, they should just post a sign "Suckers play here" at the 6/5, dealer hits soft 17 and CSM tables.
