Effective 8/1/2018 Card Counters Can't be Kicked Out of Louisiana Casinos

I'm passing this on from BJ21. In the past I heard Louisiana was a tough place for anyone counting cards.

A person may not be excluded from a gaming establishment operated by a licensee or the casino operator for reasons based solely on the skill level of the person.

There are several states where SUPPOSEDLY one cannot be barred for Counting Cards.

In such states [e.g. New Jersey, New York, Missouri, etc.] they can claim that you are
    disruptive, intoxicated, etc.

A friend of mine was escorted off the property, in Baltimore, MD, and was told that patrons

    complained that he "smelled bad."

My friend assured me that he had his morning shower an hour before departing for
    said casino.

As far as BJ goes, the casino is free to "half-shoe" you or to "flat bet" you, etc. etc.

These are referred to as "Counter Measures"

As such, this subject is moot, and if anything, tends to worsen table conditions.

From Old English Common Law we have the "InnKeeper's Law"
which is how we get barred and trespassed. It gives the owner
of a business free to say I do not want you on my property for
virtually any reason that you can imagine, e.g. "body odor" or
"inappropriate attire" or "too loud", etc. etc
    . In reality there is
    no requirement for the owner
    to explain themselves, unless a
    complaint
that laws re: bias have been breached. Indian Casinos
need NO reason under any circumstances as they are SOVEREIGN.

If you think that Indian Casinos have not been so heavy-handed as
to steal the Card Counters cash, chips, buy-ins and "front money."

I play in MO where they cannot back you off. However, as Flash says, the use counter measures. In one casino, soon as I sit down at their double deck game, they cut of 2/3rd and deal just 3-4 rounds. At six deck, they cut off 3 decks and if I am still sitting there it gets worse. Unlike being backed off where they can politely tell you privately (they ask you to step off your chair and while the rest keep playing, they tell you that you cannot play), in states like MO, there is a "shaming" practice. Soon as you sit down, they cut off the penetration and the whole table knows you are whom the casino considers as counting. The ploppies see you as a "cheater".\

Being backed off may be preferable.

Another view of it is that rarely do casino security thugs get involved in half-shoeing, thus reducing the potential for violence against the skilled patron. AP's using skills other than counting can benefit, too.

I like playing in Missouri. I much prefer half-shoeing to backoffs with the nasty casino-employee behavior that often accompanies them. I don't care what ploppies think.

    +1

My thoughts exactly. I’d much rather be quietly half shoed vs getting surrounded by casino goons.

And I’m not sure what Zee is talking about. Most ploppies I’ve ever sat with are completely oblivious to the counter measures. And even if they weren’t, I wouldn’t give a shit.

" The ploppies see you as a "cheater"

The impression I got actually that
ploppies sort of get "an eye opening Aha moment" by wondering how come they are allowed to play freely and it just hit them that they are there just to lose. They still keep on playing though.

As I was getting backed off after one of (just for the Dipshit) those incredible winning streaks, for the benefit of table mates - hmmm I muttered, just because a guy gets a lucky streak.

    Amen to that.

Want to see how "great" being unable to be barred is for opportunities and game health? Come to Australia...

    ZeeBabar,
......... You're really some kind of strange person.
I infer from what you wrote you that you actually
return to properties where you have been made
and play BJ while they half-shoe you, etc.

I was the first person EVER trespassed at the Akwasasne Mohawk Casino.
and it happened twice ~ both at Indians Casinos. The other was "Turning Stone."

Have you not learned by now that State Law does apply to Indian Casinos
    ?
