Zee, thanks for helping me express my views. As people should be able to see, Zee and I have had our disagreements but I’ve never told anybody to ignore Zee and he’s never told anybody to ignore me. Everybody should be able to make their own decisions.
I said this in one of my first posts last year when I first registered on this forum. There is an element to this site that reminded me of a cult. If someone didn’t think like the group, they were attacked mercilessly by the leaders on this site. This is what I believe is going on now. Since I have not towed the line with the way Three and Freighman believe I should think, they want everybody to shun me. If this isn’t an example of how cults operate, what is?
No Sharky, I have not backed you off. You’re one of my heroes after you called bullshit on one of Freightman’s posts, where he was again bragging about how much he won. It takes time to respond to all my detracters, and I feel we’ve covered this topic enough. I doubt if I’m going to change your mind...and I can assure you, you aren’t going to change mine.
First, let me make it clear that this really doesn’t matter to me...a casino is going to do what they do. I can only make decisions that affect me. In my area, there are casinos that have good pen, and ones with bad pen. Guess what I do? I don’t belly ache about the casinos that have bad pen. I just don’t go to them. I only play at casinos that have good pen.
As far as how much pen impacts a casino’s earnings, I doubt if there is one right answer. I can assure you there is a lot more to casinos increasing their revenues than just speeding up the game and getting in more hands per hour, more rolls per hour, more spins per hour. This could have the opposite impact and make the gambler not want to come back again if they lose their money too quickly. I’m not the only person who has made this point. Zender and many others have also made this point.
In general, gamblers come to a casino with a set amount to lose. Speeding up a game only reduces the amount of time a gambler is at a casino...it does not make them want to lose more. In fact, it probably makes him/her want to lose less and not come back again.
The following is what I saw this weekend, and it represents what I’ve seen every weekend for the past 10 years in my area. I play on a $10 DD game and there are always at least one or two $25 DD games close by. Usually these tables are only occupied about 50% of the time and this is during the busy weekend. A player comes up, plays for about an hour, gets wiped out and leaves. Sometimes he comes back with more money, plays for another 30 minutes, gets wiped out and leaves. Ive seen this same thing play out at casinos across my area. In this case, why would it matter where the cut card was placed? The dealer is usually standing idle in front of the table about 50% of the time. Dealing more hands per hour will just give the dealer more time to stare into space with nothing to do.
If you haven’t done it yet, I encourage you to listen to GMAE podcast #160. It will help you understand what casinos are trying to do to get people to come back. They do not want to take a gamblers money too quickly. This is why slot machines are designed the way they are with a long time between spins. This allows slot players to enjoy the experience and not lose their money too quickly...and yes, most people who play slots enjoy it, even though they know they are going to lose in the long run.
Hope this helps. And hope we can now stop talking about this topic.

I continue to wonder, firstly, what your fucking problem is, and secondly, your continuous infatuation of taking cheap shots through virtually everyone of your posts, revolving around your flawed thought processes.
I have no issues discussing losses or wins - nor for I have issues imparting knowledge to others as to what they can or can't achieve. I can just as easily not bother.
I've previously mentioned my last trip, first losing trip in approximately a year, along with some pretty aggressuve hourlies. So, here is some more fodder for you. I'm having a late mid morning breakfast on my way hime after a 3 day trip. Hours, heavy for me at 22.25 total. 11 sessions, 11 wins, a first for me. $9219 to my kitty. Not bad for a bankroll that started with $600 of seed money. That is what is possible. Positive variance definitely a factor this year, but pretty consistent on an estimated 125 hours and 44k ytd.
I don't care what you think - in fact - go fuck yourself.
Sincerely
Freightman
