I've said before - I pride myself in my inconsistency - so, my super max bet is also inconsistent.

The steamer might be 2x500 or 600 (DD at true 12). The super max might be a exceeding the max on my upper ramp (2 ramp system) continually chipping up after a string of big chip wins (likely occurring in a declining count), etc., etc.

Side story ,one time i had tc20 ( hi lo ) on DD . rc was 18 with just over 50% dealt. No shxx! Dealer had a pulled a 9 then and a and finished off with a 5 .Both of my bets lost. it was long ago . i was only betting 1/5 of the table max( already getting some heat). Had i bet the table max , they would of crap their pants. Casino are damn paranoid.

    Ummmm
Less than 52 cards left with RC 18 is over true 18, quite easily true 20.

    Just for shits and giggles
Running count of 18 at hi lo
52 cards remaining is true 18
48 cards remaining is true 19.5
44 cards remaining is true 21.27
40 cards remaining is true 23.4

My bad. I was thinking 50% of a deck dealt.

When I teach Hi-Opt II and help to devise a bet spread,
extraneous factors like "heat" "penetration", and "crowding"
notwithstanding, I key the Max Bet to a 2% e.v. and the
    Super-Max Bet to a 3% e.v. With Hi-Opt II (and a reasonable
House Edge) these equate to Max/Super-Max bets of 6-1 and 8-1.

Try teaching it with a floating 2 ramp system, sticking an up/down pen progression in there for shits and giggles. Further, I rather like heads up play - adds in that extra flavour, which allows for such wonderful artistry. Works great with halves.
