    Pit staring at you

What's your best advice for when the pit supervisor or boss is staring at you?

It seems like they will stare at me continuously for 5 or 10 minutes, then they move along.

Should I just ignore it? Pretend like I'm watching tv? Act like I'm half asleep? Move to another pit?

Depends on why they are staring.

    2 scenarios
Further are 1 or more pit vultures eyeing you from different directions, ready to pounce on the table, reminiscent of chip humping squirrels. Usually happens in low class sweat shops. You may surmise the message expressed will be - no more blackjack for you.

The second is the critter calling in the shift mgr, to have a second set of eyes on you. If you're Counting, then, this is supposed to make you feel uncomfortable. Their suspicions will be aroused, so to speak, if you get up and leave. Just carry on without a care in the world, provided you have a polished act. Critter mgr will leave after a few minutes. You're okay, but don't iverstay your welcome - and if you come back in short order, make sure you're in a different shift.

If there's nothing else going on....they will stare at you, the dealer (mostly the dealer to see if they are making mistakes). If you're blatantly jumping your bet up and down, they will stare and try to decide if you're a threat (and make you uncomfortable). I would say.....talk a bit to the dealer, watch TV, check your phone etc, but keep them in the corner of your eye. If they pick up the phone and look at you when they're talking, get up and leave.
Most newer counters are paranoid.... don't be. They are just trying to gauge your bet size and why you may be going up/down in bets.

Most of the time they're actually looking at the payout of larger bets to check that it's correct than anything else. Dealers are usually under more scrutiny than players are. Remember that.

It's when pit bosses start whispering to the dealer behind their back and they pick up the phone and look at you they you should grab your chips and gtfo.

You will be able to tell after enough experience .They don't always talk to the dealer ( that is too late). learn to" read" the people.

They are the supervisors, they stare at stuff. As it was pointed out, you are possibly over paranoid. They are tracking the chips first and foremost, watching the dealer actions, such as payouts, etc. beyond that. Watching you comes last on the list.

Mild Paranoid traits are neither healthy nor attractive character traits.
