    Me and my games

    Hi all,

I got the casino bug bites couple years ago. At first I played 5 cents Video poker as I like to play with something you can use your brain. When I saw people betting $5 or more at table games I cringed as too much money but I also saw some people happily walk away with win money. Long story short, now I using Zen but still in learning curve. I go to casino couple days a week as recreation but also like to win, who is not? I started with B.R about $1000 now it is around $15,000, swinging from $10000 to $20000 resplenishable

    -The games in my area:

6D or 8D: min $5 or $10 or $15 to max $500 or !000 depends on day of the week and time of the day. H17, resplit to 4 spots, resplitting A get 1 card, das, DoA2, LS,. Pen from 4.5/6 to 5/6 depends on dealer.

SD: min $10 or $15, to max $500 depends on day of the week and time of the day. Rules are same as 6D but pay 6/5, some dealers dealt down to about 10 cards left before shuffle. Full table most of the time

DD: min $25 max $1000, H17, resplit to 4 spots but resplit A only to 2 spots and get 1 card. das, DoA2, NS,. Pen around 65 to 75 cards depends on dealer.

Heat: generally the heat is medium, little at 6/5 or shoe games but I know few local counters got banned or backed off on DD. I got some warning shots from some dealers such as “good timing” “you know how to buy insurance” “good hunch when to bet high”

If you were in my situation what should you do/play? Thanks in advance for any advice.

Don't play SD at a full table.

With the heat factored in perhaps the DD would be well avoided.

The shoe games are okay since they have LS. I would not want to play unless the pen is at the deeper end of what is described. Playing when the minimums are less will allow for more spreading without a higher top bet. You need a really big spread which can be accomplished by lowering your waiting bet. I would come off the top with my normal bet for higher mins and spread down and up. Remember a falling count happens because advantage rounds, plus TC rounds, have been dealt dealt. Off the top the count will either fall, stay the same, or rise. If the count falls you have a higher than min bet out for those advantage rounds. If the count rises you want to make an advantage bet which you either already have out or is much smaller increase especially in terms of percentage of your bet. If you aren't winning follow the appropriate bets. You also need to use proper table selection. Game speed, depth of cut, and likelihood that the table will crowd up when you get something good going should be important considerations. You don't want to be starting shoes heads up and play through the crap alone only to share the rounds where you have an advantage with others. That eats up good cards and costs you advantage rounds. Other factors about the dealer should also be factored in. Sometimes you don't have to win to get payed or you don't lose money when you lose. If this is regular that makes the game a lot better.
