It's in the low 90s, but the almost daily afternoon rains knock that down and the evenings/nights are pleasant. The food, especially the seafood, is very good. So is the gambling.

So far I think San Diego is my favorite choice.

One final idea, but this would involve the last week in June. If Rapid City, SD looks appealing then go there to see the sights. Then you could fly out of Rapid City to Wendover on June 26th for 3 days for some great blackjack. The flight would only take about 1 and a half hours. There is not much to do in Wendover except gamble, maybe see the World War II Air Museum. I don't know if you ever been to Wendover, but it is a great little town in the middle of nowhere.

I love Philly, but not a July vacation. Come in June or September sometime.

I agree with this suggestion, plenty of places to play in Deadwood and plenty of sights to see and things to do in the black hills of South Dakota.

Tahoe is a beautiful place to visit. Not the best BJ but if you aren't spoiled with great games you might be very comfortable with their offerings. It should be kind of cool but at that altitude the sun will be brutal in July. Not much atmosphere to filter the sun's rays. Bring sunscreen rated infinity. If you have never been to Lake Tahoe it is a must visit in your lifetime. I would pick September but the summer heat is a lot better than most places in the US. The west coast is where the cool weather will be found. The Pacific keeps things cool in the summer. Anything from the center of the country on Eastward will likely be hot and HUMID. The humidity might come and go the further North you get but you can't predict in advance when it will be brutal hot and humid or when the air will be drier.

Seems clear from your post that you haven't been to Tahoe in years, if ever, but we all know you're an expert on every subject. The BJ there is awful.

Ever visited Sacramento in the summer? Once you get more than 15-20 miles from the Pacific, the cooling effect is gone.

No AP would be comfortable with their offerings, even those used to mediocre games.

I hear people write about the crap games they play that I would never even consider playing. WhenI go to Tahoe I don't play BJ because I am used to the best rules in the country (S17, DAS, RSA, LS, deep cut). I don't know how those that regularly play the no surrender, shit cut, H17, etc games would feel about what they find there.I did find some other good opportunities while I was there and made quite a bit of money. But you are right the one trick pony recreational players won't find anything worth playing. But APs with more than one skill would find good value if they avoided the BJ tables. Perhaps you just don't understand how versatile an AP should be.

Never played S17. Closest to me is a 2.5 hour plane ride. For me, Deck pen is typically 4.5/6, sometimes better, sometimes worse. One shithole I sometimes play, I only buy in for 300 - that way I can bail quick if the dealer practices house protocol of 3.5 to 4.0/6. Somehow, I make do.

Typical game is 6d,das,da2,rsa,h17,ES10. Play halves, full indices, with variation of the FBM ASC. Usually playall. I play tough games, an imaginative 2 tiered ramp system. Somehow, I manage to prevail. My numbers are frankly - impressive, which makes me wonder how I could do with that cream puff you have.

The point is, we all have a need to adapt to our particular set of circumstances. Some of us have more fortunate circumstances than others. Some of us are more adaptable than others.

That was my point about Tahoe. You would like Tahoe conditions but that ES10 rule you have is a sweet one you won't find in Tahoe. Being able to surrender against the toughest and also most common dealer up-card before he checks for BJ is a great rule.
