Best Non-Vegas Locale for Vacation with Wife and Multiple Blackjack Venues

Okay, the wife wants to get away on a vacation during July. We have gone overseas the past few years, and I have played in Western Canada, and a couple of countries that years ago I never dreamed of visiting, in Eastern and Western Europe.

Now, I am interested in US locations for vacation, with multiple casinos offering ASM or Hand shuffled blackjack games. She is a good sport and deals with me going to the casinos for hours on end to get some cash (my personal ATM, when not playing at my local haunts, I do fairly well - being modest). She takes advantage of that time at the spa or going to plays (some plays I tag along with as they seem interesting to me as well).

Not interested in hiking, rafting, helicopter rides or other types of entertainment.

Trip will likely last 7-10 days, as I cannot afford to be away from work any longer than that this summer.

    Thoughts about non-LV vacation destinations?

Thank you in advance for all sincere suggestions.

How about Deadwood and Rapid City SD for something different. Play your blackjack in Deadwood and do your sight seeing near Rapid City.

Visit Mount Rushmore, the Badlands, Wind Cave, Crazy Horse Statue. I enjoyed my one trip there.

Have you been to Chicago? The food, the Art Institute, the Cubs...and yes, there's a few casinos. I love Chicago.

East Coast? PA has (really) good games, and you're near shopping and entertainment.

Southern California. Beautiful weather, the Blackjack Hall of Fame...

Thanks, but Chicago in July? Hot and humid?

btw, my wife hates shopping, except amazon.

PS - Unless the Cubs or the White Sox are hosting the Red Sox, who cares? Note my username?

Will look into this on cbjn. Thanks.

Checked out cbjn. Other than Cadillac Jacks (few tables) table max all around is only $100. Not interested in that “opportunity”.

[QUOTE=Frank Galvin;246731]Thanks. Chicago in July? Hot and humid?[\QUOTE]

There's a biggish lake which creates a breeze...

I have been there in August, and it wasn't uncomfortable. You can see the bean, too.

And your wife hates Tiffany's? I've never met a woman who didn't enjoy millionaires mile in Chicago.

Well, whenever we meet up next, brunch will be on you, and we’ll have to bring our better halves. She hates shopping and schmying around.

Will check out cbjn for local opps. Thanks.

I’d say Blackhawk and Central City but you don’t like $100 maximums or hiking.

Okay, here is another one. How about the Traverse City, Petoskey, Mackinaw City, Soo St Marie area in northern MI and the U.P. of MI.

Traverse City has the Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore. Maybe take a sailing tour on a tall ship. Take a fast boat ride to Mackinaw Island. No cars allowed there, just bike or walk or horse and buggy taxi. Go up to the Soo and take a Soo Locks Boat Tour. There are 2 casinos in Soo area. Also in the Soo you are close to second largest waterfall (Tahquamenon Falls) east of the Mississippi, with Niagara being the largest.

Warning: I have received reports Kewadin blackjack has gone to hell. Many csm machines now, but when crowded they have a few tables that are not csm. I'm guessing best Kewadin games would be found in Soo and not St Ignace. I have not been there lately.

Stuff to see and do in Denver. Vail an hour west (lot of summer activities besides hiking - music festivals, etc.) Aspen 2 hours beyond that.

Or go to Cripple Creek (similar to Deadwood) and visit the Colo Springs sites - Air Force Academy, Olympic Training Centre, Garden of the Gods (more of a walk than hike, but a stunning must-see).

Summer weather is second to none with Vegas-like low humidity. The casino towns will be in the 70s during the day and 40-50s at night, due to the elevation (8000-9000 ft).
On the down side, limits are $100 throughout the state

Philadelphia. But you need a rental car to drive to all four casinos. You may drive to Boston and nearby cities for more casinos.
