Looking for feedback playing under a fradulent players card

    Hi everyone,

I was hoping to gain some insight into what experience you all have had playing with a fake players card. One smaller question this brings up is:

    1. Was your players card created using a fake ID given to the players club

    OR

    2. Was your card made by a friend who looks like you (Or does not)

I would like some pros and cons of each for those who have done this sort of things.

    Thanks

I am not sure what you mean by fraudulent. Are you going to try to get a line of credit in a false name and then not pay the marker? Use a players card under a fake name to try to steal something from the casino?

Using a card under a name that is not yours to play a game is not fraud.

FRAUD. A big issue in most circles and certainly in this one. Using a friends card is easier to "get away with" if you have the friend's consent. Using a card obtained by fraudulent means may, if uncovered, produce issues with the casinos in specific related to comps, free play and other benefits. It also may have legal issues if the circumstances are large enough.

In the past, these were not so "enforced" and was a common practice by some. Now, with improved and more detailed ID procedures and capabilities, it is a problem. Many people had and used aliases in particular celebrities. This can still be done but is a pain in the ass to perfect.

In summary, this is a slippery slope, so do your homework and be careful. Not to overlook that failing, when requested, to give your real ID to a law enforcement officer (not casino security) is a crime. Do not go there.
Luck is nothing more than probability taken personally!

So by "fraudulent" I am strictly referring to:

    1. Obtaining a fake ID and using that ID to have a players card made for me to play under a false name.

    2. Having a friend have a players card made for which I would use to play blackjack

All this would be utilized strictly for the purpose of lessened heat while playing "rated".

    Thanks

Without even trying to get multiple accounts I have multiple accounts under my name with several casinos. I find out when they tell me my information on file doesn't match what I am telling them. I get that card. I come back later with the card I normally use and everything is fine. The last one I found out about had been 2 accounts for I don't know how long before I knew I had an old account that was different. But when renewing my card they said that I had a low level account instead of a top their account. If this happens get the low level card and come back later to get the card you already knew about. Don't try to fix things. That will result in the accounts being merged. One place I had three accounts but they merged two them when I said there was a mistake. I don't do that anymore.

    BackFontuna,

I’ve experimented a lot playing in aliases or manufacturing cards in my name, but obtaining different account numbers for each card (I won’t disclose how to do it). But here’s my advice:

    1) Unless your stakes are high enough to justify taking the risk of obtaining a fake ID, then I wouldn’t do it. Example: It would make no sense for a red chipper or green chipper to obtain a fake ID. Just play unrated. Laws on fake IDs vary state by state. Some states consider this a misdemeanor and some consider it a felony. Not recommended unless you believe the reward outweighs the risk.

    2) IF you do obtain a fake ID, I would never travel with it while carrying large sums of cash. I would also not play at any casino while the card is in my possession. I would make whatever player’s card I needed, then leave the casino. Fake IDs and money don’t mix well.

    3) If you’re playing on a card in a friend’s name, you have to make sure it’s a casino that doesn’t scan the ID for a photo. There are ways around preventing the ID from getting scanned. Just use your imagination. I’ve played in aliases like this many times.

    4) As Three said, sometimes casinos will make you multiple accounts for comp cards. Sometimes this is unintentional, and sometimes mistakes like this can be manufactured. In my opinion, this is the safest way to play on fresh card. It won’t protect you from having your name searched in a database, but it will give you the opportunity to play on a clean card, which could delay a name search in the database and buy you some time.

Just please research the laws in your state and make sure whatever risk you’re thinking about taking is worth the reward. If it’s not, just play unrated. I play middle to higher stakes unrated all the time. Hasn’t slowed me down much.

I have serious issue with point 1 above. A criminal record, even a misdemeanour, can have serious repercussions in other areas.

Example, try getting into Canada with a felony on your record - or future employment in your own country. I think you get the gist.

Like I said, the reward must outweigh the risk. This means it is a case by case basis. My overall stance on point #1 is to not do it. But I won’t go as far as saying it’s never worth the risk. I know people who take this route because the reward, for them, is worth taking the risk. The people I’m referring to are full time players. I’ll just leave it there.

Hi Ryemo, just to clarify my situation,

My partner and I are chunky green chippers, but our bankroll is now growing to the point we may be betting blacks very soon. I suppose I ask because obviously these stakes increase the overall heat. A felony or misdemeanor is not an option for me because of my future plans.

Then do not mess with fake IDs. It isn't worth it. I play chunky green to black (whatever you consider 2x500 or 2x600 top bets). You'll obviously get a lot of heat at that level unrated, but I still get plenty of time in. You just need to keep moving and understand that back offs come with the territory. If you're playing green to black, then playing rated in your real is not worth it IMO. Just play with no card. Good luck!
