Regardless of what you pursue, you will experience both pleasure and pain. There is no escape until you die. In the meantime, it is paramount to do what you enjoy. Everything else is secondary.

I have mixed thoughts about the thread. However, one thing I do know- if you're getting dumped on non stop, such as at work - the knot in your gut starts when you wake up, and does not go away until you get home. It's a rough way to live.

One way or the other, a person needs to work their way out of it, in order to regain a happy life. Loved ones, can be of immense comfort.

Smallcap, thanks for sharing. That took some guts.

I think most of us has a little "gamble" in them. You kind of have to, in order to push out the big bets. I'm sorry it sucked you in.

Best wishes for a healthy new leaf.

I keep doing it because i'm masochistic and thrive on pain. It's a mirror-image of my childhood.

Thanks for sharing smallcap. I can see how it’d be difficult to write about personal stuff like that. I wish you success and a bright future whether you continue AP or venture into other stuffs.

Learning AP strategies and studying casino games in more depth turned me off gambling actually. Much like SammyBoy above really. I have no desire to gamble when I know that the odds dictate that it's a losing game no matter what I do. It completely annihilates the "fun" of gambling. Which is a good thing really.

Could the time be better spent? Absolutely. This is a question that I've put forward to this forum before, and is one that APs of yesteryear often ponder themselves in memoirs. But we can only do the best with what we've got and only look forward. Be the best you can be, not the best that you can't be.

If you plan to continue playing a team may be of use to you
I know its hard - I could never do it myself
It can be part time - My own solution was to stop playing for a while off and on - Casinos are geared to mess with your mind
I offered a while ago to talk or meet with you. and help you if I could
    The offer stands
I play for very large stakes , and know my way around a casino.

Nypro, I am curious as to what you mean by high stakes. I guess the reason I ask is... I am wondering is it truly possible to be an advantage player (Card counter) who plays for chunky black/Purple/ Orange???/ Blue!? action with any sort of lifespan at the casino whatsoever. It seems like you would be so heavily scrutinized you would be caught without minutes most of the time. Anyways, I would like to hear what you have to say.
