Going Back After a Back Off

Many years ago (like 15) I got flat betted at a Midwest casino. This casino offers a good DD game like .32 house edge and 70% pen on their DD games. Since this casino is on the outer limits of my roaming range I'm trying to decide if such a trip would be worth the risk.

I would play without a card, but I would like to stay at their hotel and usually that requires showing drivers license. Now their hotel is not attached to the casino. It is actually about 100 yards away. However, this is a small town and the only other hotel is farther away.

Do casinos link their hotel records to their casino data bases?

PS. I did play there about 6 weeks after my flat betting, but I was with my wife and she got a players card for the hotel and we put it in her name so no problem. I only played a short session that time, with no problem. This is a place I was never well known at. I probably played there only 4 or 5 times in my life.

15 years, hell most of the people who worked there are likely gone.

I would not hesitate to go back, play unrated. I would be concerned about playing rated because my record likely has a flag for card counter. Would only worry about hotel if I was trying to get a comped room.
Luck is nothing more than probability taken personally!

I agree with Stealth. I think you’ll be ok. There are some casinos that will be notified about your presence upon check in, from what I’ve heard. I believe most places aren’t that sophisticated though, as I’ve never faced that issue, except when taking a junket to Biloxi. That was the only time I was ever backed off via phone, before my trip even started.

There’s many properties where I didn’t hesitate play again, despite having a past BO, unless they had a reputation for delivering a nasty 86.

The more things change the more they stay the same. A few casinos where I was backed off I wouldnt want to play again anyway. There are worse things than a backoff, like not getting a fair game. One guy that backed me off a few years ago has moved on and now is in a higher position overseeing multiple casinos. We are fine because he let me know the tolerance levels which I dont break.

However, the casino that backed me off is still very paranoid. Not worth the trouble of a short walk. You're facing a long drive.

There are horses for courses and courses for horses.

I was surrounded. As Ron says "I'm not sure how many it was going to take to kick my ass. But I AM sure they planned to use the number necessary. If offered the right to remain silent, the ability is a handy little tool.

The specific place you are talking about has like zero turnover, I was remembered after about four years by one of the shifts, but I played there about every other weekend with a substandard spread in my early learning days. Think I got like 6-7 hours in with a pretty aggressive spread going back. I think one of the old PCs was the slot club director, that type of place. But i think you would be good to go at the further south one of the properties.

Yes, the further south property is the one I'm talking about. The northern one I'm too well known at and its been only five years since I last played at the northern one.
