    Advanced Blackjack Program [COLLABORATIVE PROJECT]

    Hi all,

I am interested in creating a program that outputs the optimal decision during a hand. Naturally, the aforementioned goal is nothing new and is the purpose of advantage play, however, I think players can improve their edge by combining well known (and lesser known) strategies and techniques and have it given to them in an easy to use manner.

Some of the strategies/techniques I would like to test and/or combine are basic strategy (with indexed variations based on the most accurate card counting strategies), shuffle tracking, ace tracking and (hopefully, machine learning). The program should be able to use image recognition software in order to scan the information from the live game, process the information based on the above and eventually give the best probabilistic output. What makes this project different to others out there is the emphasis on shuffle and ace tracking. In the same way that the outcome of a roulette is determined by the physics of its construction, placement, alignment, velocity of the spinner, velocity of the ball (and many, many more factors), by knowing the position of all the cards in the discard tray and analysing the shuffle a clearer picture will emerge in the next shoe which should potentially improve the player's odds.

This is a quick abstract, a proof of concept should be ready some time soon.

I am not an experienced programmer but plan on learning Python during the summer. I'm looking for programmers, designers or anyone really that would like to contribute to this project and help make it a reality. If you have a friend that might be interested feel free to let him know.

Send me a private message and we can further discuss things from there.

    Thank you,

In Nevada, this constitutes using a machine to aid in playing a game and is considered a felony.

    Not a good idea.
Luck is nothing more than probability taken personally!

I see where you are coming from, Stealth.

Technology has repeatedly proven that it is a double edged sword, it is merely a tool and it comes down to the human element to use it for good or for bad. In essence, what people decide to do with this software is up to them.

So what is the good and bad of this project?

Bad: To be used illicitly for financial gains.
Good: To be used fairly for financial gains, provides academic value to the community (by proving that certain strategy blends potentially provide a greater player edge), the project could serve as inspiration for other BJ or non BJ related projects as well.

With regards to the image recognition, this is simply a method that attempts to refrain the user from manual input, the system would work just as fine without it (in fact, it will start manually). I am aware of the truth of that statement for many online casinos, however, I am unclear on whether reading information of a website is a felony. For instance, if someone took a screenshot of this thread and decided to manipulate it into one of their artworks, how illegal would you say that is? I think this is a blurry line, unless I come across some legal text that can incline me to one side or the other. However, as mentioned before, image recognition is convenient but not crucial.

Let's not get carried away, this is just experimental.

I suppose you could say this about the usefulness of a gun used to hold up the cashiers cage. Just a tool. It's a felony in most casinos. In online casinos, it's against the TOS and allows them to keep your winnings and deposits.

There are already such programs..And im sure the Casinos are Well Aware of this and undisclosed Hi-Tech counter-measures have been in place for some time..Casinos are paranoid to begin with, and for these reasons mentioned above it is most likely the reasons why Casinos use CSM's to begin with(not card-counting)..Its probably best this shouldnt be discussed openlly AT ALL..Theres No reason we should make the Casinos anymore paranoid than they already are..

I have been using it to play online BJ(outside US) for years and win consistently . . . . .

The program link to ONLINE BJ CALCULATOR to obtain the best strategy, and I am sure that the ONLINE BJ CALCULATOR calculate the best strategy base on exact remaining deck compositions(combinatorial analysis).
