    Hit/stand vs surrender deviations

Background: I noticed hit/stand deviations are similar to surrender triggers but there are more of the former than the latter at least on the lists I’m using.

Q: is it correct that if a game offers surrender, the hit/stand index should also be correct as a surrender index?

No, tied up right now - may give further explanation later.

Yes, by the time you would stand on a hand you would definitely be surrendering it, but there are different indexes for surrender vs hit than there are for hit vs stand. You surrender earlier than you hit and surrender takes precedence.

For example, you hit 16 v T at minus three or lower and surrender if the count is higher than this. The index for standing this hand is 0.
You hit 15 v T if the running count is negative and surrender if the running count is positive or zero. The index for standing this hand is plus four.

Thanks Meistro. I’m using REKO-F and have compromised to 5 values. Will look at the original indices and see if that’s the case as you’ve described.

Given that surrender is, as I recall, worth much more than some of the hit/stand indices — some don’t make the top 20 and so have minimal effect — it would be wise to credit the surrender index without any changes. I was asking the question as there are more H/S indices than Surrender and I thought I may had found a shortcut to pick them up.
