    Support delays

My development machine blew up. I'll order a machine tomorrow which will take about a month to build/test/ship and another week (at best) to configure. In the meantime, I'll be a bit slow in responding to complex requests as I'm in mourning.

My sincere condolences, Norm. Hard to lose an old unit. I'm sure in time, you'll learn to love the new one.

In the meantime, could I trouble you for a response on my very simple question?

    Thanks

Sorry, specs like part specifications. Was curious which CPU, RAM, GPU you choose for the new machine. Ex. Intel 8600k, 32 GB RAM, GTX 1050.

    8700K overclocked to 4.9G
    16GB RAM
    GTX 1060
Samsung 960 EVO (took me a while to find it. It's tiny and hiding under a heat sink.
    ASUS Maximus X Hero motherboard
    H115i water cooler

Why so little RAM? RAM is cheap.
    I have 4Ghz Intel Core i7

EDIT: I was unaware that prices have gone UP.

Mmmm very nice. Quite similar to me except I went with a Ryzen7 cpu since the current Intel lineup wasn't available when I built mine. I got the 960 evo and h115i water cooler too, they are a dream.

Just no need even with a large SSD cache. Also, the RAM is DDR4-3000Mhz, so it's a bit more expensive. Had to pay $400 to jump the line. Normally, they quote 15-20 days to build. I ordered on Monday and they delivered today (Thursday) at 9AM from t'other side of the country.

They set up the H115i with four fans, push-pull. Dead silent at idle. Haven't run it up yet. Still transferring from the old disk.

I think Norm and sbrugby should get a room.
