You insist on making something more complex in order to be almost as good.
Whatever it is you are doing with the Ace that you can't disclose could still be done in an Ace reckoned count. No?"

When you reckon the Ace as a High Card ... NO.

If you were playing 6 deck shoes decades ago,
(with Don and Norm) when wide spreads were
    acceptable ~ back then
    any old count would
"get the money." Not in the 21st century.

It is also disturbing to me that you imply that
I have secret techniques involving the Aces.

I use an Ace Side Count in all games to adjust betting
and [some] important playing decisions. In Pitch games
I also Side Count the Sevens (7's) which aids and abets
me when I have a stiff or A-2, A-3 OR the dealer is
showing a 9 or 8 as her upcard.

While it is certainly true that, in shoe games, the smaller the spread, the more important playing deviations become with respect to betting variations, the main reason that you personally (or anyone else who uses an ace-neutral count) use a side count of aces is that you HAVE to, for betting, because you don't count the ace as negative in the first place. So, it is important to understand that the context of any remarks I've made about the (relative) unimportance of ace side counts in the shoe game were made with respect to the Hi-Lo player, which was always the "default" player in my writings.

And so, regardless of what century it is (!), or what ace-reckoned count you may use, or how small your spread in a shoe game may be, the extra strategic edge to be gleaned from using a side count of aces in a shoe game is minuscule, and it would be relatively easy to do sims that would bear this out.

You and Norm can express whatever outmoded ideas you like.
You play a game that is rather different from what others play.
Norm has not involved himself in playing BJ in decades. "If you
got out more" you would understand relevance and irrelevance.

    Methinks Mr.
    moses meant greater granularity.

    Pass the data points.

It is very obvious that you haven't either!
