    Recent Vegas trip: New electronic shoes at the Venition and Palazzo

    Just returned from a Vegas trip.
    The Venition and Palazzo have these new electronic shoes at the blackjack tables with buttons and screens that looks like they could track the cards somehow. I've never seen these kinds of shoes anywhere else.
    Does anyone know what these new shoes do and if they can count the cards to bust players?
    I asked 3 different bosses what they were and got 3 different answers.
    One said they didn't count the card values they only counted the number of cards. Another said they are just baccarat shoes and are used to help push the cards out of the shoe to make it easier for the dealer. Another said they are used to track the cards in case the dealer made a mistake.
    I decided not to play this game.

    Sounds like something similar to the Angel Eye. They use those at my local casino in Australia for Baccarat, but trialed them on BJ several years ago, before reverting to traditional plastic shoes. I was informed by pitstaff they could actually keep track of every single card that has come out, and therefore, the count.
