photo sharing of APs with nearby casinos

One issue that I have encountered in the past was being countermeasured/heavy heat immediately on entering after being backed off by a neighbor casino. Surveillance must have shared my photo. In each case, the neighbor casino was only a couple miles away.

How far is the radius normally for the photo sharing? If I go 100 miles away, can I assume that I'm safe? What if I am 20-30 miles away but in the same metro area?

I figure after a backoff, I should wait 3-6 months to return to the metro area. Is that a good remedy for the situation?

The old standard was that you could wait for 6-9 months and ...
actually, one size doesn't fit all. Nowadays, as surveillance has
become far tougher, (for the most part), it depends upon just
how well you're known in this venue. The 'radius' is infinite due
to Biometrica® and O.S.N.® We no longer use smoke signals.

If you want to receive (personalized) information, contact me.

One size does not fit all, as so to speak.

Good answers from Flash. Here’s my experience:

Most flyers are regional and if you get backed off at a casino in any given city, chances are you’ll be flyered to all the casinos in the surrounding area. But some casinos further outside the area might be safe. Example; recently I got backed off at a casino in a town that had a few stores. After I got backed off, the shift manager told me not to bother playing anywhere else in the area because they’d have my photo. But he said, “but you can try X Casino. They probably won’t get the flyer.” This casino was 1.5 hrs outside of the city and the shift manager was right. I played for a couple hours with no BO and left on my own accord.

Sometimes flyers depend on your stakes. I have a friend who plays very high stakes and he hit a couple places really hard, so he got flyered throughout an entire state! Some states have their own networking system.

And of course, national databases, like OSN and Biometrica can be problematic. If you get BOLO’d through them, then that BOLO can be see by any casino in the country, assuming they utilize this resource.

As I read this, I am standing in a gift line at a local casino, ready to pick up the copper pot gift they are handing out, card in hand. I just lost $100, no counter measure taken. I was put on OSN by a local casino 4 miles from here.

Maybe few pay attention to those databases.

What's human about this comment, and Ryemo can agree or disagree
-shift mgr was just doing his job, and following that store's protocol about flyering, but still had the decency to say - if you want to take a drive, here's a place reasonably close by that you can play.

Not all critters are like that - I know some that are just plain nasty, and in some cases, if it can be possible, uglier on the inside than they are on the outside.

In fact, the nickname I have for this one critter - she is so ugly - my nickname for her is ugly.
Can any one suggest a protocol for asking a she critter if they have a dick. I'm not usually at a loss for words, but diplomacy on this one escapes me.

What I’ve found is that if you’re willing to have a conversation with the person backing you off, sometimes they’ll give you good info. I’ve asked them how they found me or who flyered me, etc., and I’ve surprisingly gotten some helpful info by taking this approach. Just treat them like a human being and they might be more inclined to share info.

I once had a security guard actually show me a Biometrica BOLO alert that they got from a nearby casino. The dude was a real dick at first, but I was nice to him. I was in a good mood because I had a 5 figure win in short period of time. By the time I finished CTRing, I think everyone cooled down. When they walked me to the door, the guy let me look at the flyer. He wouldn’t allow me to take a photo of it though LOL. But I guess he didn’t have to do that. He also made that comment “go try to play at _______.”

I don’t approach every BO like that, but if the moment seems right, then it can’t hurt. You risk making yourself a little more memorable like this, but there’s nothing you can say to change their mind about backing you off, especially if they happen to find your database profile. But sometimes you’ll get some decent info from them.

You’re so naive. I remember when I used to think like you. Report back to us in 6 to 12 months.
