Thread: How Does Your Average Session Win Compare to Your Average Session Loss

Everyone keeps writing about "sessions" without ever defining how long that is! Is there anyone who deosn't understand that it's one thing to win 60% of one-hour sessions but quite another to win 60% of ten-hour sessions?

What's the point in providing session results (which are meaningless anyway) without telling us what constitutes a session for you (or anyone else)?

    Don

    +1 for Don's post #28.

Not only is "session" ill-defined, but many of the amateurs

who are posters here will play longer if losing (or winning)

a certain amount of money, often unknowingly!

It's all one big session. So far this year I am ahead, therefore 100% winning sessions!

Is that ahead for this year or lifetime?

Those numbers tell me you are not spreading enough. For a $25 min bet an 13 hour long session I would expect to see much larger wins and losses. I'm curious what kind of spread you are using.

This year my largest win was $1,806 and biggest loss $710 and most of this years play was at a $10 unit, although some was at a $25 unit. Average session was a little over 6 hours.

Edit: Sorry I think I misread your post. I guess you played 13 sessions each an hour long. That makes a big difference.

My session length is pretty much constant. It doesn't change much from trip to trip. However, I do agree with your above statement. I have a good feeling when I win, and even though I don't change the length of time I play, other things can be changed to protect a win and get rid of a loss.

If I'm winning and have a pretty large win, I might not spread as much in high counts. If the situation calls for a max bet I might put out only 60% of a max bet. Same thing if I'm losing. I might get much more aggressive in a losing situation. If the situation calls for only a mid size bet I might put out a max bet to try to recover. I know this is bad, but I'm just human and not a computer. My bankroll is large enough to handle the low limit games in my area so bet size in not a problem.

Yes and yes. Have only been counting BJ less than 2 years (both positive $). Primarily a VP player before local opportunities started drying up. Made more at VP, but current BJ is plenty to supplement retirement income.

I can see how I was misunderstood.

I played 13 days, and about one hour sessions each day.

I knew this really really ugly guy, always at the bar, always had swarms if women around him. Don't know how he did it. All he ever did was sit there and lick his eyebrows.
