Did You Ever Have a Dream About Blackjack

Was it a pleasant dream or a nightmare? I will post about mine later.

Had a dream once where I won a boatload of chips but was unable to cash them.

I have dreamt of BJ more times than I can estimate.

The modal dream is where the rules keep changing

and I am heads-up but, confused, I will not place a bet.

I've dreamt of the casino in the mall.

I've dreamt of being able to move up from $5 to $10 tables.

Lately I've dreamt of have a full table but waiting for the dealers to get ready to deal.

Ah, I just remembered my recurring blackjack nightmare. It is based on actual things that have happened and things that I dreamt have happened. I had this dream so many times that I don't remember what is real and what was a dream anymore.

The dream is always based on me losing my wallet full of money. I have actually had this happen in real life several times. Many, many years ago I was in a casino walking down the hall toward the bathrooms and my wallet fell out of my rear pocket. Fortunately, the cocktail waitress was behind me and told me I lost my wallet.

Another time I was in Wendover and lost my wallet. I saw it on the floor below my chair. Details on this are kind of sketchy, but I don't think it was a dream. Also I found my wallet on the car floor between the door and seat when making a piss stop on a blackjack trip. And on my last trip to Laughlin I saw someone pickup a wallet that dropped out of a blackjack players pocket. He was going to steal it until I confronted him. This is in one of my Laughlin trip reports on BJ21. So in real life these things have happened, but I have never lost my wallet or any money. I have been real lucky. Lately my pants must have shrunk so it is really hard to get my wallet in and out of my pocket.

Now in my nightmare dreams I always lose thousands of dollars. Each dream maybe a little different but the outcome is the same. I lose my wallet and go searching for it and find it empty.

At the time of the dream, I had recently heard a story of someone being at a table with a big player who was tipping the dealer as well as other players frequently, so that may have had impact on my dream.

Anyway, my dream was basically I was at a table with a bunch of super big whales, betting millions per hand. I was betting my $5 or $10 per hand. Big players started losing badly and were getting grumpy, seeming like they were thinking about leaving. So the boss made a decision to keep them happy and had the dealer start throwing out $25k, $100k, $500k chips to all the players at the table. After all, what's a few million (I figured) to a casino that's getting $10M+ in action per round? So the dealer is like actually throwing chips in the air and we're all grabbing them. I figured I had at least $1M in chips....then I woke up.

That's the best I can remember the dream. I've had other AP-related dreams, but nothing that sticks out specifically to me. Usually just dreams the night before (or a few days before) leading up to a big play. I think all of my AP-related dreams have been good, don't remember ever having a bad one.

When I was first banned from my local casino, I would have dreams that would start with myself in said casino, then I spend the rest of my dream trying to figure out how to get out of the place without being caught and being arrested. This reflected my anxiety of perhaps forgetting I've been banned somewhere.

When my teammate and I started to get in to counting a lot, taking weekend trips and playing all the hours we could, camping out at places we knew we could get away with it... We both discussed having dreams of still counting cards at the table. It's funny - normally in dreams anything with numbers gets messed up (clocks, etc)... but in these 'counting' dreams I never dropped the count =P. It was mentally exhausting though, because instead of a good night of sleep I felt as though I'd been counting cards all night after doing it all day.

I recently had a dream about going to Heaven. It is super bright and vivid, not like any dream I ever did. I kept asking myself if this is a dream or I am dead. The place is like a super high-end theme park. The attractions are most wonders on Earth, in miniature scale. If architecture are man made, the craftsmanship are out of this world. I am amazed by every detail so I kept telling me this must be Heaven.

Attractions are connected by trains or some crazy rides. I kept asking people if this is a new Disney theme park and where it is. Then I woke up for a few seconds. Saw I am still in my room and I am obviously not dead. Take a look at the clock. I still have time to sleep. Now I have more time to explore, in the good mood knowing I am not dead. I went to sleep and continue this sweet dream. I end up exploring a few more attractions in that place.

As for Blackjack dreams, I have plenty of them. But most of them are boring. Nothing really happened. Except once I dreamed about winning $140,000 side bet jackpot. That evening I immediately drove to that casino and learned that someone had won that jackpot last night so the new jackpot is only $55,000. I played a few hands with that side bet. Did not win anything so I just played Blackjack. About 10 minutes later, I was dealt same suit 7/7/7. I would have won $55,000 if I listened to my dream.

Or maybe you were actually counting cards in your sleep, and your awake moments of card counting were just another nightmare! :/

Yesterday, I loudly called out "Six of Spades" to a desultory
ploppy, who was grumbling about being dealt the Seven and
Eight of Spades. He was "all-in" for more than $300 in green.

The dealer obliged with just that card, and the happy winner
tossed me a $25 toke. In 20 minutes more, he went 'belly up.'

Oh, perhaps I ought to mention that the game was Spanish21.
The ploppy was "gobsmacked" when he was paid three to one.

So you and the house divvied up all his dough? Nice.
