    Time to spread?

I typically spread to two hands at TC3 with other players at the table. This past week while playing the count rose to TC3, but I was losing. At this point would you wait until you won a hand to spread to two in order to look more like an average gambler? Or, would you just throw caution to the wind and spread anyway?

"Piss on this noise, I need to turn this around" might be something I would say.

"Three losses in a row, it's my time for a win" might be something a ploppy or a gambler would say.

Wrong! That's what you say to the dealer after a bathroom break.

There was an old thread ( im reading the forum - again) where a high "ranking" member said that there wasnt enough emphasis on cover. He said an excellent cover/camo game allowed him to get away with murder. Like a counter got backed off righ next to him in under like 30 min and he was just hitting it hard without the slightest heat. I know in places with sharp eits its less effective but if they never get called to skills check your play....
i used to ask about it on here but ive realized that this is bad because convincing cover should be protected just like game locations
I know there is a faction that doesnt like / isnt all that convinced about cover but i think this can be one of the most fun aspects - but the kind of people that are good at the impersonal monotony of card counting usually arent good at this or something about it seems unappealing
In your instance a good act incorporating superstition voodoo and other ploppy logic will help you get away with spreading - wile out a little , have fun remember that people plop down at the table to have fun, to cut loose, and to experience the thrill of getting lucky - not mathematically grind out a profit while looking like their studying for a calculus final. A great cover will help more than some people are wiling to admit

Now stop unhelpfuling my posts - this board needs me, Im a lovable villain

When there's others at the table, I start with two hands. I keep them both out as long as they win, or longer if the count goes up.
    I do this for cover.
The ploppies around here get upset if you suddenly go to two hands, and I try to play nice. Happy ploppies=a happy pit. And in some warped paradigm, ploppy manners means that if you start with two hands, that second spot is now and forever "your" spot, whether you play it or not.
In your scenario, I would have started with two, so at TC3 I simply go back to two.
If everyone leaves the table (as sometimes happens as the count rises and they are losing) I drop to one hand. I want as many positive rounds as possible, and this has the added benefit of good cover. After all, everyone else went to zero hands. The EITS sees me going to one hand as the count rises.

I also like the above approach. It's good for places where you play a good bit and need to employ some cover. Regarding the OP, if I didn't start with two hands (and there were others at the table), I would be looking to spread to two hands at TC +2; i.e., as soon as you have an advantage.
