A youngster, I guess Paul is about 65.

Seriously, in L.V. once on each shift
he walks down the strip and plays a
shoe in every casino that has a decent
    playable shoe game.

He stays off-strip in a cheap motel.

    He is extraordinarily successful.

Here is a quick story about him
    where he played quite differently.

Cosmopolitan had just opened. Second day.
He was in Arizona at the time. He called me
and I told him that he was missing an amazing
opportunity. Cosmo' was dealing a single decker
S17, DAS, RSA and solid penetration, with high
stakes tolerated. For those who have yet to learn
what needs to be learned. This game is "positive
off the top." He bet $100 to $1,000 and won
$36,000 quickly. It took a few hours using a weak
count and a ton of cover plays.

He thanked me, but I always felt
that he owed me a fine dinner.

    L.O.L.

Two more multi-day trips in Dec '17 scheduled. Have been practicing 50% more than before (just to eliminate hesitation); plan on taking breaks at -2 after 3d played; leaving table at -$200; $15min, 6D, I18, F4, DAS, RSA; any advice on exactly when to sit out a shoe or look for another table? Or, any other advice, besides 'don't play'? So far, I'll plan on staying no more than an hour at a table. If my spread is only 1-12 and max $90/hand, I don't think they care.

How open can you be about a trip. If playing anonymously, could a post about the trip indicating names of casinos played, amount of win/loss at each casino cause problems?

How detailed can one be? If one was to post such, indicating a day where one started at Luxor, a bunch of station casinos, So Cortez etc., and wrote an account, would that person get into trouble? Is there a protocol to follow when posting a trip report.

I feel that pros deeply familiar with las Vegas casinos can point out where a person might have made a mistake.

As ZMF has already intimated your mindset is still very much ploppy oriented and you just need to put the hours in to get your wings. You're not alone - everyone who is experienced has had to go through what you're experiencing. It's your apprenticeship and if you learn from it, will be invaluable. But you're starting off on the right foot. Ask the right questions - try to implement advice - put the hours in - and learn from your mistakes. Get out of your mind the concept of stop losses and daily goals. There's just too much variance to have things like that. Go to as many casinos as you can to find the right games for your bankroll and build a list of casinos you want to play at that will give you the edge you're comfortable with. As your bankroll increases other games will come into play and so you can start moving from one shop to another more quickly. Your bankroll size is really the determining factor and the level of risk you're happy to accept. Also pop into The Gambler's Book Club and give Howard my regards from the UK (if he's still alive). You'll find it to be a mine of useful information.....Also, as others have said, get a current copy of CBJN...

Leaving a table because you have lost $200 is irrational.

YES, they care. We can assure you of that.

If your spread is 12-1 and your max bet is $90
what is your minimum bet? $90/12 = $7.50
    ?

He is betting $15. He must put out two hands or he is only spreading 1-6.

The longer you wait the more detailed you can get. You want to put in enough misinformation to make identifying you impossible while keeping the important information intact. Important information isn't where you played and when or placing a monetary value on your win. That is what they will use to identify you easily. You can keep some of this intact if you change others. It is never good to name the casino correctly. That just makes them want to look for your identity. I recommended using casinos by number rather than name and not making any specifics that would still allow a knowledgable person to identify what casino you played in. I hope you are smart. Read posts with the mindset of how could I use any information to identify the person. Stories about what happened can be memorable to the staff that was there.

If all info was detailed and accurate and a casino employee was motivated enough to try to find out who you are it would be so easy. Unless of course it happened a long time ago and nothing was memorable enough to tickle someones memory. Many wait around a year to post a trip report they wrote after the trip and say they just got back since when they wrote it they did just get back. It is best to err on the side of caution and paranoia. There is no downside to that. If you err by making things to easy for casino personnel to identify the downside is you backed yourself off at all properties that would receive the information from the one that figured you out.

So, that's how affleck got caught

I've told this before, but it still makes me chuckle. Last day of a Vegas trip (red chip days) I've lost my gps, I'm casino hopping and I find the Tuscany suites. This guy is sitting next to me. I jump my bet from $10 to an overpowering massive $30 bet, dealer calls checks play, 2 (pant) suit critters immediately hawk the table. I win the bet, whisper to the guy next to me if he wants to see them go apeshit. Sure he says. And I put a black chip out. It really was very funny.

Freightman's story never gets old. I love that one. It brings back memories of similar shenanigans I have pulled.

Interesting, did not know that, I've never had an issue getting one. Not too tough of a vp comp. The rooms are huge, reasonably priced, decent location for convenience if you have a car, I like them. Now if only it was actually worth a tables APs time to actually go to Vegas anymore that would be great.
