The brother confirmed that he was a professional video poker player for 20 years and made millions. I wonder how he avoided being 86ed from MGM like bob dancer was.

I don't believe it. My brother has no idea what I make in casinos.

Does your brother hang out with you for days on end, like his brother.

A person capable of playing V.P. at his level, with an accounting background, etc.
    would be looking
for advantage at BJ; but his high level of play DOWNTOWN would
never be permitted at the sweaty downtown casinos if he was a card counter. I did
read elsewhere where one (unidentified) casino had 86'd him, but it failed to note
    why.

Earning millions from playing VP... How should that ever be possible unless he was hunting and hitting a couple +EV jackpots?

At his level and quantity of play, he's going to be offered free tourny entries. Winning these isn't a negative for casinos as somebody has to win them.

It's not. The media, or whoever provided this info, probably just totaled up W2Gs and/or CTRs. Playing a $25 unit, a FH will generate a W2G 1 in 87 hands, and add the smaller frequency contribution from bigger hands..

The one report I saw was based on his total earnings. But, it included non-gambling earnings.

A VP tournament sounds like a lot of fun!

Many stories about this guy are most likely goofed up anyway, but he apparently could calculate VP probabilities extremely well. At least that is what his brother claimed in one of his crazy tv interviews.

For being an AP he sure did the most -EV thing possible at the end.

Well, maybe. If he was playing $100 9/6 JOB then doing 1,000,000 a day in "coin in" is not beyond possible (likely about 8-10 hours@$500 pull). His EV would be about -$5000 with a huge variance.

His free play would have been very large and it is not unbelievable that he outran his negative EV with these. Winning a million or more in several consecutive years seems very unlikely.

It would not surprise me to learn that he"gambled" a lot and lost a lot and it became a contributing factor to the event, much more likely.
Luck is nothing more than probability taken personally!

    I concur with this.
