This one guy wonged onto my table with a modest 2x500. He knew my city but not me. I asked him not to backcount my table. He asked, verbatim, are you Freightman?

Haven't seen him post here for awhile.

21forme, Freightman, I never truly expected to get serious about BJ, never really won much (about $35k in 3 years), sometimes thought it would be good if I was forced to quit, that I should do other less stressful things in retirement.

Now that local casinos are not welcoming me, I will play less, do a trip a month, play anonymously during my trips. The days of playing with a card are almost over.

I am hoping I am too small time for casinos outside MO to be concerned with me.

Zee, MO is a big state. Try playing the casinos on the other side of the state.

Yes but the problem for me is the 4+ hours drive. Say you drive or fly to a destination that has 2-3 casinos, how long a session you can play at each in a 1-2 day trip? Can you go there midweek and play in a somewhat empty casino and get away for long?

Midwest Player, I am guessing there are 2-3 playable DD games at each end of state. Are there any in the middle of the state that have a good game? In one city not many people play during the day during midweek. I suspect its also the case at the other end of the state. I checked Mapquest and its about 3hrs and 45 minutes drive.

My problem is that I can usually make a 24 hour trip. 8 hours total driving to one location and back, 6 hours of sleep, time driving between casinos, meals and such take up another few hours and I am left with actual playing time of 6 hours or so. At my stakes ($150-$175 max bet), I would need to do a minimum of $100 an hour to make it worthwhile. After all, gas, motel, car and time would be a $200 expense.

After all of these years, you still need help with a simple issue like this?

$100 per hour is a bit more than DOUBLE what you can expect to win.

Why does it have to be just a 24 hour trip? I thought you are retired now. Make it a two or three day trip. I never make a one day trip anymore. Your playing results will look a little better if you get in 25 to 30 hours of play.

By the way google maps are better than map quest. Yes, there is a casino in Boonville which is located pretty much half between St Louis and Kansas City. The only thing I know about MO casinos is whats in CBJN.

For several years, until this episode, you have ignored the advice of the more experienced players about the wisdom of playing rated. It finally caught up to you.

You also insist on playing DD, while the experienced players have told you that DD games are watched much more closely. If you want to continue this endeavor, it's time for you to play shoe games. If the bigger spread still makes you nervous, you shouldn't be playing at all. If you need to feed your gambling addiction, just flat bet $5 on the half-shoed games in STL and don't worry about counting. You have the advantage in MO that they have to keep dealing to you and can't toss you.

Your advice is BS. If you don't believe me, poll and you will find AP's playing DD games in Las Vegas, MS etc. I have played rated and played DD all over Las Vegas, Tunic a and Biloxi without problems.

I got caught not because I played rated but because I was playing 3-4 times a week at 2 casinos where everyone knew me and I hit a streak where I won 6-7 sessions in a row. They would have done the same thing whether I had played with a card or without one. I got arrogant, started playing 2 hands in positive counts, one hand in negative ones.

I will be in Vegas at end of month, start playing anonymously.

I refrain from responding to your posts because you've been given good advice ad nauseum, and continue to ignore it. But every now and then I feel sorry for you and respond. I'll go back to read-only mode and read your posts for their entertainment value. You are the poster child for uneducable.

3 or 4 casinos is plenty for a several day trip. My casino trips to Wendover are for three days and there is really only three playable casinos there. Just play for a couple hours and move on. Repeat until rich.
