I have seen folks dancing around the subject, but never seen it addressed directly.

Have any of you tried to barely break even over the course of years of play? I am trying to figure out how long a large chain would keep giving comps, etc. if a player broke even or even lost a little over a span of many years. I assume the large chains compare your record with your expected losses - give you a standard deviation or two, and eventually cut back on the offers even if you are not beating them out of much money (or even if you are losing a little).

Or once they realize what is going on; will it result in an immediate back-off for lifetime earnings?
