New member here looking for some advice

Hello everyone, I have been coming on here for sometime just reading and gathering info and practicing at home and saving for a BR
I am on the MS river obviously and my local stores will be tunica for the most part. I am aware that these are not the ideal places to play but it is what it is.
My goal in this endeavor for right now is a hobbyist and may develop it into something more down the road. Here is my current situation and I am at a sort of dilemma.
I started to learn Reko and have been practicing it and getting pretty good at it after I mastered BS. In the meantime I started putting back for a BR, right now I have almost 5k put back and shooting for 10K, it is replenishable of roughly 700-1200 a month (depending on my commission at work that month). If I feel "ready" before I hit 10K I may play with a theoretical of 10K. I have not purchased any software yet as I do not have a computer at home, but I suppose I will just bite the bullet and buy one as I will need it for software and excel. I will be playing mostly 6D in Tunica. The rules as a whole are not great, 6D, 3:2, DAS, H17 RSA to 4 hands. Some of the other stores only allow split Aces once with all the other rules the same. As I mentioned I had started to learn reko count as it seemed simple and very strong for a shoe game, I plan on spreading 1-15 also with some wonging. However after running all the numbers on all the available software online I have found a problem I do not like. On qfit I saw where the N0 for hi-lo full indices (as reko was not on there) it would be roughly 40K hands! Then when I plugged in 2D same rules and HI opt II it dropped dramatically to somewhere around 17K. Looking for some advice on what to do as even though I am just doing it out of hobby I still don't want to spend two years before I reach expectation. However the 2D games are normally $25 min, however there are other places with lower min 2D but it would eliminate the 2 biggest stores with most tables if I excluded playing 25 min. So just looking for some advice

Firstly, I want to tell you that if you are not too far from Vicksburg, MS
you need to play a little at Ameristar. The other casinos in Vicksburg
    are sweaty (in extremis).

Secondly, If you must play in Tunica, I suggest that you can play
at the Gold Strike, which is better than the others in that area.

    Finally, you will do yourself
a favor by learning Hi-Opt II. Feel free
to contact me for mentoring [gratis]

Why don't you guys talk to newbies in newbie terms.

You don't like N0 for Reko. Play with the ramping of the spread. Ramp faster in other words, and experiment with different ramps. You should see differences in N0.

Don S - you'll be p,eased to note that I corrected excrement to experiment. Couldn't be bothered to correct p,eased.

I appreciate that offer flash and may do just that. I was thinking though if my primary game would be 6D wouldn't HI opt II ace side count be a little over kill? I mean 1/4 deck estimations and keeping track of a potential 24 aces just seems like a lot. I wish my bankroll was enough to just play the DD $25 min games but my ror would be pretty high
I have thought about zen but have not looked to much into it. May have to try that any other advice is always greatly appreciated
I just cant believe that reko N0 was that crazy high of a number, I knew it would be higher but not by 2.5x

What you consider to be hard or easy will depend on what your past experiences are. If you start with something a little more difficult (that is still something a 5th grader can do) that will be what you consider to be easy later on. The hard parts about being a counter have nothing to do with counting cards.
    Hopeless

MSRiver: When I switched from REKO to FELT-F I was surprised at how much bullshit goes into using REKO (and other unbalanced systems). There is a surprising amount you have to keep track of. The number of decks changes your initial running count for example, and many other annoyances. All for what, exactly? Not having to divide by unseen decks? In my case I felt the switch from REKO to FELT-F actually simplified the process rather than made it more complicated. You may feel the same way.

Keeping count with the more complex tags was relatively trivial. I took a few weeks off and learned the new tags and the indices. I already had deck estimation practice from attempts at shuffle tracking. The hardest part of the switch was not playing live for a while.

Obviously he is already doing the most he can betting without getting into stupid approaches for his BR. Your advice is probably useful for others reading the thread but not for the OP and his situation. He needs an approach that will outrun ruin fast enough to get him to play DD games he wants to play. It would be nice if it was also a count or approach appropriate for the DD games so he didn't need to learn a new one when he is comfortable playing DD wouldn't it. Think about the path the OP laid out before answering.

    Hopeless.
    Dear Abby
I was hoping you could help me out with an embarrassing social problem. Every time I play blackjack, utilizing an ace reckoned system such as hi lo, i can't help that bloating sensation caused by gastric rumbling. Eventually, despite best efforts, i release an embarrassing cloud of methane, which occasionally clears the table.

I realize that I am still a newbie, however, I am advised by others that a simple system like hi lo still gets the money. Can you help me?

    Sincerely
    Hi Lo Farter

    Dear Hi Lo Farter

In order to eliminate that constant flow of vibratos, sliders and butt ruffles, with the inevitable skid marks they create, one must consider a count system more suited to the digestive system. Consider an ace neutral system with, at minimum,an ace side count. That, in itself, should cleR out the pipes resulting in a muffled controlled efficiency.

For additional comfort and social acceptance, add a sidecount of 7's. Perfection and smooth sailing are now within grasp. For ultimate control, achieving maximum spread, looking stupid (on purpose) with constant superlative win rates, simp,y complicate the shit out of this with additional linear theory, proprietary non disclosable approaches coupled with simple calculus derived formulae, mixed in by a simp,e 29 count group schedule, modified by number of shoes.

Successful adaptation will render you fart free and socially acceptable.

    Sincerely
    Abby

I am not sure how I got the 40k either, may have typed something in wrong. I just did it again and for Hi-Lo full indices, 1-15 spread, 6D, H17 DAS, 10000 BR I got N0 31665
For Hi opt II full indices Ace SC, 2D H17 DAS, 1-6 spread I got N0 22297. Which at 4 hours of play a week and 100 hands per hour that 23 weeks faster. which is a big difference.

As far as the terminology goes, I can pretty much handle it, I have read a few books and been reading almost everything on this website. So I can handle most of the complex answers and if there is something I do not understand I am not afraid to ask for an explanation

Better to switch now and makes yourself thousands of $$ compounded into your future years by switching to the better count now. That's what I did when i threw away my improved UBZ for HiOpt2 w/ A

You also wont have to rely on 15x spreads and the heat that comes with it

Yeah that's what I have also been considering. Do any of you all use hiOptII Ace SC for shoe games? I know flash said he uses Zen in some previous threads

My sincere suggestion is for you to go to another forum (Blackjacjinfo.com) where there is an excellent thread currently going called "best system for a new player" (in today's games). Read every response. Some of the pros there make reference to some of the posters here.

Its always best to hear different points of view before you make drastic changes to the count you choose.
