Thinking of Making a Blackjack Trip to Kansas City MO

I'm looking for a destination that I have not been to before that has some good blackjack games.

I like small towns like Laughlin and Wendover but I don't know of anymore such locations with several casinos. I have not been to Reno or Kansas City. Reno will take 10 hours to get to while Kansas City will only take 5 hours.

I checked CBJN and see KC has four casinos Ameristar, Argosy, Harrahs, and Isle of Capri. Their double deck games look pretty good all with house edge of .40 and with decent pen.

So my first question is how safe is Kansas City especially near the casinos?

I would prefer not to have a car. I would probably take an airport shuttle to one of the casinos and stay there and use that one casino as my base. I see there is a bus route called 77 casino cruiser. http://ridekc.org/assets/uploads/rou...ules/77swk.pdf
Is this bus line safe? The bus is very cheap, but doesn't go to Argosy. Taxi would be quite expensive. Has anyone used this bus line?

Any recommendations for which casino to stay at? It appears Harrahs is located right in the middle.

What is the traffic like in KC? Remember I'm a country hick and most of the time I don't have a car behind me or for that matter one coming towards me. I'm just wondering if its possible to get by without renting a car.

Oh, one last thing. Can you camp out at these casinos. By camping out I mean play for at least four hours at double deck spreading 15 to 100 or 25 to 150 tops 200. I believe MO can't bar counters so do I have anything to worry about concerning counting.

I'm thinking about a four night trip.

If KC is like St. Louis, the DD games have a $25 min. I would rent a car. As long as you avoid being on the road between 7:15 a.m. And 9:30 a.m. And from 3:00 to 6:30 p.m., traffic would be fine. If you are going on a weekend, it's not bad either.

While they can't back you off, they are quick to make the game unplayable and possibly flyer you. They have fairly good game protection. I'm unfamiliar with the bus. I think I'd rent a car.

They can and will "half-shoe" you or "flat-bet"
you, especially if you attempt to "camp-out"
    and are cheap

    Hi-Lo dude.

Not having a car is extremely handicapping as
no two casinos are anywhere near each other.
Some are extremely sweaty, e.g. Argosy or "The
Isle of Debris" Probably your best bet is Ameristar,
    in KC, MO

DD games with normal midwest rules are definitely $25 min, except for Isle (might have $15 if I recall?) -- but the rules are adjusted. You also left out Hollywood Casino -- the Western-most location on the Kansas-side of Kansas City. Note -- the non-86'ing I believe only applies to the Kansas City, MO casinos, not the Kansas City, KS locations.

No pitch games, all dealt from a shoe.

I'd highly recommend driving a car. You can try to take an Uber or taxi between Ameristar, Harrah's and Isle, but if you want to play at Argosy & Hollywood, those are at least 20-30 minutes away from Ameristar -- all Interstate driving.

Be cautious if you attempt to camp out for long stretches at any single DD game. Busy nights -- possible. Other times -- depends on your risk appetite, since you'll be isolated in the high limit rooms, generally one of the only players present.

Feel free to PM me for anything more in-depth. I travel to KCMO/KCKS every month or two.

Agree with flash. Last time I was in KC I got my best play in at Ameristar. Their high limit has 25$ but sometimes 50$ or 100$ mins. They did have a 15$ DD on the main floor but was D9. Argosy had good pen but I got the sense they were sweatier. Stay away from Isle of Capri and Harrah. Not as good as the other two.

The one time i tried to play there (3 years ago), they wanted my id to even go into the casino, and I dont look that young, was 31 at the time. I gave up and left because i don't want a scan of my id in their files, this is not the case right?

They don't scan passports. I have phony passports from Finland, Iceland, Norway, Sweden and Austria.

Stay out of Isle (sweaty dump) and Hollywood Speedway. Best bets are Harrah's, Ameristar, and Argosy. Don't camp out too long anywhere. Everyone communicates with everyone and KC is a heavy reporter to national databases.

Someone may correct me if I'm wrong but I believe all MO casinos are supposed to ID you before entering.
