What do you think would happen if...

Which is the action that would lose the casino the most amount of money? Do you think it would significantly hurt their bottom line? What if all the casinos in a state do it? Which action is most likely to eliminate card counters?

    1. Turn all BJ tables to CSM's.

    2. Turn all BJ tables to 6/5

    3. Turn all BJ tables to 8 decks?

    4. Change rules on all BJ games to ensure a casino edge of 1%

Casinos have already done 1-3 and possibly 4. Gamblers still come. So none will have serious impact on casino earnings. For AP, 1 and 2 will do the most damage. Depending on how it is implemented, 4 could be as damaging as 1 and 2.

You spoke of genius in another thread. A modicum of genius might have been demonstrated by a non answer to the OP. Ridiculous question, but that's we love Zee

An additional mark of genius is to avoid mini novellas when responding to dumb questions. However, be comforted that I didn't bother reading it.

Freightman, T3's answer was great. When newbies think of a career in BJ, it is relevant to consider whether opportunities will remain. If Macau was lost to CSM's, if the LV strip has fewer 3/2 games, it's possible that Casinos that are already booming with patrons may elect to take steps.

Disagree. It was long, boring and mostly irrelevant, as the OP was also mostly Irrelevant.

Secretly, casino managers hardly care about "table games"
because they care about their shows, nightclubs, restaurants,
and hotels. Their revenue stream very often contains a shrinking
fraction of their gross revenue derived from table games. Common
is 30% to 40%, and of that, slots and VP will contribute 60% to 70%

Any casino that I play in more than once I will
note their revenue statements on line.
A casino in financial trouble tends to blame us
and consequently, apply the excessive heat to us.
The newly opened (Feb. 27) RIVERS Casino in
Schenectady, NY has had shrinking overall
gross gaming revenue figures since their opening.
Rounded earnings for March, April, May and June:
    13 million, 12 million, 11 million, 10 million.
Each month has shown a million dollar drop.
Their BJ has become progressively sweatier in
line with their decreasing revenue streams.

The first rule of keeping your customer base is make sure they have no reason to try a competitor. People are creatures of habit. Don't allow any other habit exist except for patronizing your establishment.
What us interesting about this post is the fact that the principle applies across many industry streams. The concept is the loss of revenue due to stupidity. It is far easier to maintain existing business than it is to put into new business.

Any sane businessman will put his resources firstly (likely 70% of effort expended) to the maintaining if the current customer base, and increasing business levels from that customer base. Pay attention to them, carpeted to them, make it tougher fir the next guy to take that customer from you. 30% if effort expended would be to target new customers, to find those oeop,e with the resources (in all revenue categories) to replace those who fall off the 70% bandwagon.

How do you lose revenue from that 70%. Nothing to it. Some die, some move, some go broke - any multitude if reasons. Any sane operation dies it's best to replace up that lost business, and more, in order to achieve growth.

Of course, there's more - that's short term economics 101 for today.

I have lots of patience when the subject matter isn't boring
The OP was ridiculous, and simply didn't merit attention. In my business heyday, I ignored a lot of irrelavence, stupidity, butt kissing corporate nonsense - in favour of solving problems. Among other things, I argued for a living, and if I say so, I was fpdamned good at it. When I held the cards, I never lost, when. Didn't hold them, I seldom lost.

I recall one particular battle - little ole me going up against a multinational. I complained to my customer - not right, not fair, they don't a chance. To many departments getting involved in a dispute, none understanding what the other was doing. Little old me had no problem picking them up.

Sometimes, I fool around in these threads, with irrelavent links etc, for the sake of humour. No disrespect intended, but you seem to relish the irrelavent an non sensical, and bore the ever living shit.

I'm patient to the nth degree on what's relavent, have no patience for those taking paragraphs to explain on what should be sentences.

Interesting to see - I would refer to it as assinine.

Reminds me if this guy at the casino, finished taking a leak, didn't wash his hands, but did dry them. The only logical conclusion I could come to was that he pissed on his hands. I shared that logic with him and the dealer when he joined my table. Subtlety is my specialty.

3, there's some really good shit in your posts - you've been told a million times that your verbiage is way to excessive. For the most part, people really don't give a shit about your verbosity. Most newbies don't have a fucking clue what you're talking about, ergo, your commentary then becomes useless.

As for not posting, we all know that's not part of your regimen.

T3's posts are most valuable and respectful. It's yours that are Ming boggling. You get on a thread you think is ridiculous...why? Is it ego? You think the rest of us on this forum are awaiting your judgement about the value of a post, that they cannot determine for themselves?

I am am sure there are a lot of AP's and prose, Don S, Norm, Bear, etc., who don't get on a thread if they do not want to address the questions on that thread. They may think this thread is pointless and stupid just as you do but they don't seem to have the need to get on one and bash not only the OP but others who respond to it.

    Zee
I'm pleased to note that you have displayed more thought in your defence if 3, than you normally display in your OP's and subsequent questions. However, your incorrect observations lead to erroneous conclusions, and thus, are of no interest.
